tvN's 2016 K-drama Goblin, or Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, is now a global phenomenon, with fans from all over the world.

Starring Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, and Yoon In-na in the lead roles, it follows the story of Kim Shin, a military general from the Goryeo Dynasty. After being wrongfully accused of being a traitor, he is cursed with eternal life and has been living on earth for 900 years to find his bride, who will finally end his suffering.

He forms an unlikely friendship with the Grim Reaper and crosses paths with a high school student, claiming to be his bride.

After the K-drama went global, fans from all across the world visited South Korea and Canada to see the filming locations.

Goblin: 3 must-visit filming locations for all K-drama lovers

1) Borinara Hagwon Farm (The buckwheat farm)

All K-drama lovers must vividly remember the large buckwheat farm featured in Goblin, which was Kim-Shin's usual hiding place. Being a god means having your own anywhere door, and this was one of his favorite places, where he went to calm his mind.

One of the iconic scenes from the K-drama was shot here, when Kim-Shin goes through the door and Eun-tak follows him, and she also ends up in the buckwheat farm, a first for a mortal.

While the goblin is visibly shocked, it also confirms that Eun-tak is actually his bride. The couple also shared their first kiss and got married here.

This scene was shot at Borinara Hagwon Farm, a large barley farm located in Gochang County, which occupies more than 561,983 square meters. It was a popular tourist attraction, made even more popular thanks to the K-drama.

People visit the place annually to admire the farm's natural beauty, and you can even rent a Korean traditional-style guest house nearby for the night.


2) Le Petit Champlain, Quebec (The red door)

While a red door is simply a red door for normal people, Goblin fans know its importance. Another of the doors Kim-shin opened and this time, he was transported to the beautiful city of Quebec in Canada.

The red door aesthetic and the bustling road are another iconic location that is a must-visit for every K-drama lover. This is the location where Eun-tak expresses her love for the goblin for the first time, and they spend some quality time together amidst the famous Canadian maple leaves.

You can visit Le Petit Champlain in Quebec City, and the red door is the emergency exit for the Théâtre Petit Champlain. Fall is the best time to visit the city for those crunchy and beautiful maple leaves, but don't forget to snap a picture outside the red door while you are at it.


3) Jumunjin Beach (The first summon)

If you thought the above locations were iconic, this will beat them all. The place that started it all, where Eun-tak summoned the Goblin accidentally for the first time while celebrating her birthday in solitude.

The beautiful beachside scenery served as the first scene between Kim-shin and his future bride, where he even gave her a buckwheat flower bouquet.

This iconic scene was shot at Jumunjin Beach, Gyohyang-ri. While it was an isolated spot, it garnered many tourists after the K-drama became a hit, even boasting this sign:

“Muffler, flower and umbrella can be rented for KRW 1,000 each.''

However, the sign was later removed, but you can still visit the place and re-create the scene with your loved ones. You will also find many seafood restaurants and a gelato place nearby, which even rents Eun-tak's red muffler and the bouquet for tourists to recreate the Goblin scene.
