Netflix has axed Arnold Schwarzenegger's action spy thriller series FUBAR, which premiered its second season in June 2025. The show premiered to high ratings and fan appreciation in May 2023.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's action series will not be returning for Season 3, partly due to its inability to perform well in the sophomore season. While the series opened to positive reviews and high streaming ratings in Season 1 (partly due to Arnold Schwarzenegger's global star power), the show could not maintain this magic in Season 2.
FUBAR Season 2 barely managed to make it to Netflix’s Top 10 charts for English-language series in its first week, coming in at the last spot with 2.2M viewers. The sophomore season peaked at No. 7 (3.3M) but eventually fell to No. 10 (1.8M) in Week 3 before dropping out of the list.
The Season 1 premiere amassed 11M viewers in its debut week, which drastically dropped to 2.2M in Season 2, sealing the fate of the show on Netflix.

Netflix cancels FUBAR after two seasons
The official logline of the show reads as follows:
“Luke Brunner is a veteran CIA operative who, up until recently, was on the verge of retirement. After his last mission in saving another operative – who just so happened to be his daughter – he’s back and face to face with new villains. This one is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”
The cast for Season 1 was led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played the role of a veteran CIA operative, Luke Brenner, followed by Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Fortune Feimster, and Travis Van Winkle. Additional cast for FUBAR Season 2 includes Carrie-Anne Moss, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Aparna Brielle, Guy Burnet, and Andy Buckley.
In addition to FUBAR, the platform also axed another action series after its sophomore season, Noah Centineo's The Recruit. In addition, freshmen Pulse and The Residence, for which Uzo Aduba was nominated for an Emmy Award, were also recently cancelled.
In other news, the platform renewed two freshman shows, namely the recently released crime series Untamed and Western romance series Ransom Canyon, for Season 2. Much-loved shows, Wednesday and Bridgerton, were also renewed for Seasons 3 and 8, respectively.
While FUBAR could not sustain its magic from the debut season, fans appreciated Schwarzenegger's performance and dry humor as a spy agent struggling to work with his daughter. Schwarzenegger also served as an executive producer along with showrunner Nick Santora, Adam Higgs, Amy Pocha, Seth Cohen, Scott Sullivan, and Phil Abraham.
