FUBAR Season 2 premiered on Netflix on June 12, 2025 with its 8 episodes dropping simultaneously. The new season sees Luke and his daughter Emma return as CIA agents tasked with saving the world one more time.
While it appeared from the beginning that Greta was the main villain, in a final twist, it was revealed that Dante Cress, the terrorist that Luke was after, was none other than MI6 agent Theodore Chips, who had gone rogue. It is also revealed that Theodore wanted to destroy the world, but, thankfully, the missile he launched for that purpose was stopped by Luke on time and Chips got burnt to death in the process.
Let us now explore in detail what happened at the end of FUBAR Season 2.

Theodore Chips dies in FUBAR Season 2
The character of Theodore Chips was portrayed as an antagonist at the beginning of FUBAR Season 2 but it soon became apparent that he had changed for the better. However, the change was nothing but a sham, as it is finally revealed that Chips is the terrorist Cress, who is hell bent on destroying the world with the help of a nuclear war.
Chips infiltrated Luke’s team so that he could keep tabs on their activities as they tracked Dante Cress and also get key information about the nuclear missiles. He knew that Luke was the only person who had the required codes and thus working alongside him to get access to the codes seemed logical.
While he did not succeed in his mission and was instead burnt to death, Chips was given a rather emotional backstory that explained why he believed that the world should end. It is revealed that his father was an agent as well and, after one of his missions failed, he tried to kill Chips, his own son, which compelled Chips to kill his father in self defense.
Luke and Emma lie about Greta’s death in FUBAR Season 2
While Greta appears to be the main antagonist of the show, she is shown to have a change of heart. Eventually, she helps Luke to save the world. As it becomes clear that to sabotage Chips’ plan, someone has to travel inside the empty missile and crash it before it reaches the Russian border, Greta decides to do so.
Although Luke seems to be certain that Greta would not survive the impact of the crashing missile, when he reaches the site with Emma, they find Greta alive, who saved herself with the help of DARPA technology.
Despite Greta previously working with Chips’ and spreading chaos and death, Luke and Emma decide that the sacrifice she ultimately made shows her good heart. Therefore, they lie to the authorities about Greta dying, so that she could live a life out of prison.
Toward the end of the second season, it is shown that Luke and his family can finally return home as the CIA decides that they are out of danger now, which marks a happy ending.
FUBAR can be streamed on Netflix.
