Surprisingly, Matarazzo revealed that despite all the hiding and mincing of words that the cast had to go through, fans of the show had actually managed to come up with theories that were "surprisingly adjacent" to the actual ending."There are some shockingly adjacent ones, I can say. Most of the time, anytime there's a little bit of truth in the theory, it shows up when they get something right in a grand scheme of a lot of it being wrong. But one weird detail will be right on the money, and that's fun to find."However, he did go on to add that usually these "truths" or correct guesses were hidden beneath a lot of false guesses, so the fan theories failed to actually correctly figure out the Stranger Things Season 5 finale.
