Among the popular sci-fi series on Apple TV+ is Foundation, a story about a place in the distant future where the entire galaxy is ruled by a single, powerful empire. But this empire is no ordinary one. It’s led by three clones of the same man, Emperor Cleon.
These three versions are called Brother Dawn (the youngest), Brother Day (the ruler), and Brother Dusk (the elder). They are supported by an intelligent android named Demerzel, who plays a key role in managing the empire.
The story follows a genius mathematician named Hari Seldon, played by Jared Harris. He invents a predictive science called psychohistory, which can calculate how large groups of people will act in the future.
Since Foundation Season 3 is set to hit our screens today, Seldon teased that this chapter won't feel like the previous ones. In an interview with Screen Rant, the actor said:
"Season three has sort of been released from the shackles of needing to set out the circumstance, get you familiar with the characters."
H continued:
"[and] get you familiar with the rules. [With] this one, all of those elements of the story are sort of hardwired into it, so it can just take off."
According to Harris, Season 3 will lean heavily into being an action-adventure story, with a more intense and dramatic tone. Not only this, the character arcs will also experince major chnages.

Jared Harris hints at a "soap opera" style storyline in Foundation Season 3

Season 3 of the Foundation sci-fi TV series is scheduled to come out today, July 11, 2025. It has a total of 10 episodes, and one new episode will drop every Friday until the season ends on September 12, 2025.
Fans who've been following the show since Season 1 might be super excited to dive back into Hari Seldon's journey, as this chapter picks up 152 years after Season 2. By this time, the Foundation has grown stronger and more structured. But now, a brand-new threat appears: The Mule.
On top of this, actor Jared Harris has mentioned that viewers will experience an engaging action-adventure story. He added in the same interview:
"It's more nakedly an action-adventure story. It's more of a space opera, if you like."
Harris continued:
"There's a sort of fascinating story at the center of the galaxy, which is this sort of strange family that's imploding on itself. And then, of course, there's the appearance of this uber-villain."
Harris also hinted that at the heart of this season will be a bizarre, imploding family dynamic taking place at the center of the galaxy. However, the biggest new element this season is the introduction of The Mule, whom Harris referred to as an "uber-villain."
The Mule is a mutant with powerful telepathic abilities. He can control people's minds and force them to commit violent acts against their will. He’s portrayed by actor Pilou Asbæk, who takes over the role from Mikael Persbrandt, who played the character earlier. The Mule’s rise shakes the galaxy’s already unstable balance and pushes both the Empire and the Foundation to take drastic action to survive.
So, don't miss out on Foundation Seaso 3 on Apple TV+.
