Chad Powers marks Glen Powell’s return to live-action television after almost a decade. The actor’s comeback has paid off well as the show has been generating immense buzz among the audience ever since its premiere in September this year.

The sports comedy series revolves around Russ Holiday, a disgraced quarterback who disguises himself as the titular player and returns to play for a college team. The show is going to air its final episode soon, and audiences have already started demanding a second season.

Glen Powell, who also serves as the series creator with Michael Waldron, has now made his feelings known about a potential Chad Powers Season 2. In a recent interview with The Wrap, the actor revealed that he is willing to continue the show as he has had so much fun making it. He said:

“I’ve never had such a good time making anything. When you get to collaborate with one of your best pals and make something that you love so much and that brings such joy to people … I just really feel so proud that we’ve done this first season and when you feel that way, you always make time.”

During the interview, Glen Powell added that though Chad Powers is a time-consuming project, he always has energy to work for the people he loves, and so, he is on board for a second season:

“And so obviously it’s a bit of a wild moment, but I have a lot of energy and especially a lot of energy to do something that gives me a lot of joy with people I love.”

Series co-creator Michael Waldron, who was also present during the conversation, added that they will certainly make another installment of the sports comedy if the audience wants it. He said:

“If folks dig it, we’ll make more.”

However, the fate of the show will ultimately be decided by Hulu. As of now, the streaming platform has not renewed the series, but considering its popularity, viewership, and the willingness of the creators, a second season might be greenlit by Hulu in the upcoming days or weeks.

Chad Powers tells the story of Russ Holliday, a former college football star who was known for his narcissistic and arrogant behavior, but had a fall from grace after a humiliating experience in a championship game. Years later, Russ takes up the alias of the titular player and joins a college team as a walk-on player, hoping for a second shot at the sport and a chance at redemption.

The show premiered on September 30, 2025, and has so far aired five episodes. The finale is scheduled to be released on October 28 on Hulu. Apart from Powell, the series stars Perry Mattfeld as Ricky Hudson, Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson, Wynn Everett as Tricia, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, and Frankie Rodriguez as Danny.
