GLOW cast and character guide: Who plays whom in the Netflix drama?

Netflix’s GLOW, which stands for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, is a dramedy about the cast of a fictional show about women’s professional wrestling promotion. It narrates the story of Alison Brie’s Ruth, a struggling actress who gets the opportunity to audition for GLOW. However, her difficulties begin to appear after she learns that her ex-best friend, Debbie, will also star in the show.

As the show focuses on the professional and personal lives of the cast of GLOW, the performances by the ensemble cast play a huge part in the success of the Netflix series.

1) Alison Brie as Ruth Wilder

After learning about Debbie starring in the show, Brie’s character Ruth develops her own wrestling persona called Zoya the Destroya, the Russian counterpart to Debbie’s American hero. Before getting to work on GLOW, Ruth’s career as an actress was almost over.

2) Marc Maron as Sam Sylvia

Noel’s Cherry is a B-movie actress and has worked previously with Maron’s Sam Sylvia and appears as Junkchain/Black Magic. However, she also tries to maintain her friendship with her GLOW castmates after leaving the show.

Baron played Justine in GLOW, and her wrestling persona is known as Scab. She enters the fictional show with the help of numerous lies, which are later revealed throughout the three seasons. She is also revealed to be Sam’s daughter in Season 1.
