Park Bo-gum K-drama Good Boy ending explained: The final punch

Whether it was the full-circle character arcs or the sharp confrontation scenes, the ending of Good Boy gave viewers a satisfying sense of payoff. Since its premiere, the K-drama has kept audiences hooked with its fresh concept of Olympic athletes becoming elite crime fighters, and its unique blend of humor and action.
So, the finale kicks off with the truck explosions in Insung, thanks to Min Ju-yeong. He once mentioned that if he were ever caught, he'd burn everything he built. And true to his word, he tried to do just that by triggering an explosion involving four trucks loaded with toluene, a deadly chemical compound.
Thankfully, everyone made it out alive, but Man-sik was clearly shaken. Later, the team questions Drug Demon about Min Ju-yeong, and she reveals that after losing everything, there's only one person who could help him: Ms. Kim Yun-na from the Customs office, who developed feelings for Ju-yeong and was serious about him.
As expected, Ju-yeong contacted Ms. Kim and asked her to meet him for the last time or leave Korea with him. Jae-hong managed to track her down, and the team planned to catch Ju-yeong when he arrived to meet Ms. Kim.
She revealed that Ju-yeong had asked her to meet him at the Victory Hotel before he disappeared. So, the team came up with a plan: they’d catch him there and finally put him behind bars. But Min Ju-yeong isn’t someone who can be trapped that easily.

Min Ju-yeong's finale trap in Good Boy: Chaos the Victory Hotel

At the hotel, the team gears up to confront Min Ju-yeong, knowing he’s supposed to meet Ms. Ki there. But things take an unexpected turn when they realize that the hotel’s shareholders are also gathered for the property being sold.
Later in the Good Boy finale, Man-sik reveals that all the shareholders are connected to Min Ju-yeong. From the customs commissioner to the coast guard chief, everyone is involved with him.
Han-na then notices a powder on the floor and confirms with Drug Demon that it's an industrial raw material that can kill people when contacted with water. Here's when Dong-ju and the team realize Ju-yeong's actual plan.
He wants to kill all these officials so that he can leave the country without any complications. At first, the shareholders refuse to cooperate with Man-sik and the team. But once the chemical starts spreading, chaos erupts as everyone rushes to escape.
Earlier in the Good Boy finale, Dong-ju gave the commissioner one last chance to redeem himself. He told him to answer Han-na’s call whenever it comes and to help them bring down Ju-yeong.
He finally shows up at the hospital and helps the shareholders leave the hotel. While the team managed to save everyone, Ju-yeong is still operating from the shadows.

Dong-ju drags Min Ju-yeong out of the water to face his crimes in the Good Boy finale

After the hotel incident, the commissioner holds a press conference and announces that the entire police force has been mobilized to track down Min Ju-yeong. They finally track down his vehicle, and Han-na, with her gun in hand, is ready to take the shot.
But it turns out the person in the car isn’t Min Ju-yeong; it’s his right-hand man. Ju-yeong has already made his move, trying to escape on a Russian vessel. However, the Yakuza catch up with him just in time, saying there’s a bounty on his head and that he has to pay for breaking their deal.
Just as the Yakuza are about to kill him, Jong-hyeon and Dong-ju arrive in time. A brutal fight breaks out as the gang targets both Ju-yeong and the officers, plunging everything into chaos.
Dong-ju and Ju-yeong finally come face to face in a fierce showdown. Dong-ju doesn’t hold back, landing blow after blow in a brutal fight. But just when it seems Ju-yeong might surrender, he suddenly leaps into the water in a desperate attempt to escape.
Ju-yeong jumps into the water in a last-ditch attempt to end it all, but Dong-ju dives in after him and pulls him out, refusing to let him escape justice. He makes sure Ju-yeong lives, just so he can finally be thrown behind bars.
Finally, everyone gets a happy ending, with Dong-ju and Han-na continuing their relationships. Jong-hyeon gets back to fencing, Man-sik is about to become a father, and Jae-hong is free from all his loans.
