Following Park Bo-gum's return in When Life Gives You Tangerines, fans have been waiting for his new K-drama Good Boy, premiering today May 31, 2025. This action-comedy series marks a significant reunion between Park Bo Gum and actress Kim So Hyun, fulfilling a promise made nearly a decade ago.
The collaboration between Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun had been years in the making. Their first encounter at the 2015 KBS Drama Awards was memorable and in a recent interview the actress stated:
"When I saw you as MC 10 years ago, you took such good care of me."
The Moon Embracing the Sun star continued:
"At that time, you loved my serious appearance with improvised acting a lot, and it became a hot topic. That's why I thought I wanted to meet you someday and work on a project."
So-hyun shared that the last time they worked together was back in 2015 when they co-hosted the KBS Drama Awards. The actress fondly remembered how Park Bo-gum was very supportive of her during that time and appreciated her serious tone and spontaneous style of hosting.

Good Boy follows a group of former national athletes who, following a career-ending event, have been recruited for a special police unit. They are using their skills as athletes in order to fight against violent crimes and corruption.
Park Bo Gum plays Yoon Dong-ju, an Olympic boxer who almost lost everything in a past Olympic event, and is now a police officer. Kim So Hyun plays Ji Han-na, a former shooting prodigy, who after suffering personal trauma becomes a police officer.
The other star cast members in Good Boy are Oh Jung-se and Lee Sang-yi and Heo Sung-tae and Tae Won-seok. Together, these actors promise to offer an engaging story about a group including different individuals.
In the same interview, Kim So-hyun also shared:
"I'm looking forward to Park Bo-gum in this drama, and I wanted to quickly see Yoon Dong-ju (played by Park Bo-gum) in the drama. All the actors were looking forward to a new side of him and cheering him on while filming."
Bo-gum felt happy after reuniting with the actress and replied:
"I’m also really glad we got the chance to work together again. To be honest, I once told Kim So Hyun that there was a project I really wanted to do with her, and I hoped we’d get the opportunity someday. And now, here we are."
Both Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun are two of the fan-adored South Korean celebrities. Fans recently saw Bo-gum playing the leading role of Yang Gwan-sik in When Life Gives You Tangerines alongside IU.
