The special crime investigation team at the Insung police department returned in Good Boy Episode 6, on June 15, 2025. Titled "Counterpunch," this episode offers a mix of comedy, melodrama, and a twist no one expected.
Following Han-na's heartfelt move towards Dong-ju at the end of episode 6, the new episode picked up right from there. The former boxer was rushed to the hospital as his sudden collapse hinted at a serious health issue.
However, the doctor reassured everyone that it's just vertigo. Dong-ju, ever the optimist, brushes off the scare and blames his dizzy spell on being lovestruck. Instead of staying at the hospital until he recovers completely, Dong-ju goes back to his work.
At this point, he only wants Min Ju-yeong behind bars and to expose his connections with drug mafias and other criminals outside the country. So, the episode continues, and so does the investigation to gather new evidence and information.

Good Boy Episode 6 recap: The team continues to dig into details about Ju-yeong and his network

In episode 6 of Good Boy, Dong-ju and his team stay hot on the trail of the shady customs officer Min Ju-yeong. But as they dig deeper, they begin to uncover a much bigger and more tangled web of corruption than they ever expected.
As seen in the previous episode, Ju-yeong had another mobile phone, which he threw after taking the vehicle. Dong-ju quickly remembers this and takes Han-na with him to search for the device.
As he expected, Min Ju-yeong disposed of the phone in the drain, and Dong-ju ensured to take it out. In a funny but frustrating twist, Dong-ju ends up getting his hand stuck in a drain, and to make matters worse, he annoys Jong-hyeon, who refuses to help him because of it.
After getting the phone piece to the lab, they confirm Ju-yeong’s fingerprints on it, finally getting solid proof linking him to the shady operations. Later, Han-na and Jong-hyeon discover that Cheongil Shipping, once a prominent name in Korea, had faked its bankruptcy and was subsequently acquired by TAE Corporation.
Turns out, the shipping and logistics were being handled by J9 Security, a company run by Ju-yeong’s guy, Oh Jong-gu. TAE was sneaking in illegal chemicals by hiding them as frozen fish. Jong-gu would then pass those along to the Drug Demon, with Ju-yeong secretly running the whole show.
The cloudiness grows more complex with the revelation that TAE CEO Steve Roh is the son of Insung's mayor, Deok-gyu, and a friend of Police Commissioner Cho. This is a clear indication that Ju-yeong is not only a corrupt customs officer but is linked to an even larger and sinister network beyond South Korea.
The walls are closing in on him, but Ju-yeong isn't going to back down. He stifled the complaint and went so far as to set Man-sik up to later implicate him for a shooting using his stolen gun in Good Boy Episode 6.

The Drug Demon adds to the chaos in Good Boy Episode 6

While Dong-ju and his team are busy digging into Ju-yeong’s web of corruption, the Drug Demon throws a wrench into everything with her mind games and chaos. She's not just dangerous but unpredictable as well.
As seen in the Good Boy episode, she's already in custody, but during a raid, she pretends to be a helpless trafficking victim, which fools everyone around her. She ends up in a police safe house being treated more as a witness than a criminal.
When they eventually arrive at Bbong-pil's lab, it is clear that he is unrelated to either Ju-yeong or the Drug Demon."Dong-ju gathers a few hair samples, but the reality strikes hard: they've been thoroughly manipulated.
Furthermore, Jeong-a (Man-sik's daughter), who is still fixated on Jong-hyeon, is put in the same safe house after returning from the Philippines. Eventually, Han-na discovers who the Drug Demon is, but it's too late. Together, she and Jeong-a flee the chaos.
Thankfully, Jeong-a is found safe at a restaurant, but things get intense for Man-sik and later Dong-ju. The team leader's gun is stolen, and Ju-yeong misuses it to frame him.
A shocking final blow in Good Boy Episode 6

When things seem to be settling in Good Boy Episode 6, Ju-yeong sends Dong-ju a message in the form of a present. When he opens the box, Dong-ju finds Man-sik's stolen gun inside it, with no bullets inside the weapon.
Soon, Dong-ju gets a call and he rushes to his aunt's place, only to find out that she had been shot. Ju-yeong had used the last bullet of Man-sik's gun to shoot Dong-ju's aunt, a counterpunch no one saw coming in the Good Boy episode.
Dong-ju is broken to witness that his aunt has been shot while she was waiting for him for dinner. Overwhelmed with grief, Dong-ju finds Ju-yeong and knocks him down in a rage.
The episode ends on a chilling note. There are signs that Dong-ju’s brain may have been seriously affected, possibly due to his past as a boxer. What was brushed off as vertigo earlier might be something serious.
