Good Boy Episode 5 recap: Drug Demon crashes in, and so does Han-na's love for Dong-ju

The story of the once-olympic stars continues in Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun's new crime comedy, Good Boy. The latest and fifth episode, titled Punch-Drunk Love, begins with a playful flashback to Dong‑ju’s Olympic training days, revealing the first spark he felt upon spotting Han‑na jogging on the same track.

He is seen daydreaming about Han-na as he always does, only to be knocked flat by a stray football. Meanwhile, in the present day, Dong-ju and the team were finally able to stop Min Ju-yeong from flying abroad, and bring him to the police station for interrogation.

Forensics trace the hit-and-run vehicle, but before the team can extract real answers, prosecutor Seok‑hyeon swoops in and orders Ju‑yeong transferred to prosecution custody. This unexpected decision halts Dong-ju's team's process of catching the culprit.

Later, when Ju-yeong is being taken by the prosecutors, Han-na confronts him and warns him about finding out the truth. Since she was the one who saw the documents during the hit-and-run case, Han-na becomes a threat to Ju-yeong and his secretive gang.

Good Boy Episode 5 recap: The arrival of Drug Demon and an explosion

The Good Boy Episode 5 continues as Min Ju-yeong's case is handed over to the prosecution, and then the man is freed from them as well. The police officers are frustrated as they almost got to the core of the case, but Ju-yeong seems to have big connections in law enforcement.

Now that the Insung Police Department is no longer working on the case, Man-sik's rival officer offers him a deal: Work together on the drug candy case as Monkey also had a share in it, and this might also lead them to Ju-yeong once again, with proof.

So, the two teams join forces to track down the gang involved in selling the drug candies in Korea. At the same time, viewers are introduced to a new and ruthless villain, Drug Demon. What's special about this drug lord is that no one has even seen Drug Demon, and the ones who got the chance died immediately.

In a surprising twist in the Good Boy Episode 5, Drug Demon, who was presumed to be a six-foot tall man, turns out to be a woman who has come to Korea to meet Min Ju-yeong for her illegal business and destroy the hideout where a ganag was selling a drug similar to hers.

With a tip-off from informant Dae‑yong, the team locates her hideout just as rival gangs ambush, forcing an edge-of-your-seat raid. Dong‑ju jumps into action, rescuing Drug Demon (thinking she's a victim), and even risking his life as he leaps from a second-floor window to shield her from a blast.

No one knows that the woman they rescued, and thought she is a victim, could be a prime suspect — actually Drug Demon. She was supposed to meet Min Ju-yeong soon after landing in Korea, but decided to destroy the hideout first, after which she had to pretend to beg a victim of the gang that was making drug-laced candies.

Hearts collide and a cliffhanger collapse in Good Boy Episode 5

After the rescue in the Good Boy Episode 5, the stakes shift as Drug Demon enters witness protection but unexpectedly develops a crush on Dong‑ju. She loved how the former boxing champion saved her from the blast, risking his life — something she might not have felt lately.
