Good Boy Episode 9 recap: Jong-hyeon takes a bullet for Han-na 

Among the latest hit K-dramas is Good Boy, featuring fan-adored actors like Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, and more. What sets this TV series apart is the fresh and unusual concept: a special police team comprising former Olympic athletes.

Bo-gum's Yoon Dong-ju is a former boxer, So-hyun's Ji Han-na is an ex-shooting champion, Lee Sang-yi's Jong-hyeon was a fencer, Man-sik is a wrestler, and Jae-jong was known for his incredible skills at the Discus throw. Together, these individuals bring strength, speed, and determination to the team.

Interestingly, the drama isn’t just serious crime-fighting. It also knows when to lighten the mood with comedy, making it accessible to a wide audience. There are intense action scenes, like high-speed chases, clever standoffs, and exciting hand-to-hand fights that are choreographed with flair.

So far, nine episodes have come out, with the new schedule to be released today. In the latest episode, Man-sik and his team tried hard to shut down Ju-yeong’s drug transport operation, but the criminal outsmarted them all.

However, Han-na managed to get on the truck, hoping to find out who Min Ju-yeong's clients are. She ends up at the shipyard, where Ju-yeong meets his Japanese client for the drugs they are making.

Good Boy Episode 9 recap: Jong-hyeon’s past and the injury that ended his career revealed

Good Boy Episode 9, titled "Allez," begins with a flashback from Jong-hyeon's fencing championship during which he was injured. The episode shows Jong-hyeon earning praise for his skills until a near-fatal injury to his eye changes everything.

This is the reason why Jong-hyeon is now scared of needles and knives. The accident left a scar on his life, ultimately resulting in his downfall in the sport. However, he did not give up and is now one of the most skilled officers in his police department.

Han-na sneaks into the truck to follow Min Ju-yeong’s drug transport operation

Good Boy Episode 9 continues, and we see Han-na climbing onto the drug transport truck to find out more about Min Ju-yeong's operation and his clients. At the shipyard, Ju-yeong and the criminal network met their Japanese client, who first refused to close the deal but later agreed.

Han-na then discovers that the criminals are trading the drug candies with other gangsters outside the country. She also learns that the Russian gang responsible for killing her father is the Black Cat, now run by Leo.

While trying to escape, Han-na is ambushed by Min Ju-yeong and other gangsters. Just as the hitman was about to kill her, the Drug Demon intervenes, saving her life, only for Han-na to be captured and locked inside a shipping container.

This is when she asks Leo if he knew her father, to which Leo does not respond. His reaction and the flashback from the past revealed that Han-na's father was shot dead, and the watch that was found in his car was actually evidence.

Dong-ju saves Han-na, but Jong-hyeon gets shot by Leo in Good Boy Episode 9

While being dragged away to be locked up, Han-na secretly slipped the hitman’s phone into her pocket. She used it for an emergency call through which Dong-ju and the team tracked down her location.

After an extensive search, Dong-ju found Han-na in Good Boy Episode 9, while Jong-hyeon kept taking down the hitmen. While leaving the shipyard, Min Ju-yeong's men attacked the trio, but Dong-ju managed to save them.

As the episode came to an end, Han-na and Jong-hyeon had almost escaped by Leo showed up. He pointed his gun towards Han-na, but in a shocking moment, Jong-hyeon took the bullet and fell into the sea.

Good Boy Episode 9 ended on a cliffhanger, leaving Jong-hyeon's fate hanging in the balance. He was already stabbed earlier, and now the gunshot is only making his condition worse.
