The MGM+ production of Robin Hood explores the childhood tale differently. In this rendition, the character is not as black and white as portrayed in previous iterations of the show. Instead, he is portrayed as a more layered character.
Similarly, Maid Marian, who has previously only played the role of Robin Hood's love interest, is now a character of her own in this show. Lauren McQueen, who plays the role of Maid Marian in the show, spoke about the same in the interview:
"Marian's not just Rob's love interest, she's got her own journey which really excited me. And her character arc was what really appealed to me when I read more of the episodes."
While the Marian-Rob love story plays a crucial role in the storyline of the show, the character is much more than simply a love interest, which makes her a lot more interesting to watch.
