Grey's Anatomy Season 22 has not only managed to shock the audience with the last episode but also set the stage for an emotional reunion. After Dr. Monica Beltran's death, Amelia is shaken and devastated. Enter Maggie Pierce, who is back to help Amelia through these trying times. The episode 2 titled ‘We Built This City’ also finds Jules reeling from Dr. Beltran’s death, seeing she was with her at the time. Link in on the path to recovery, but he seems to be struggling with the dire situation he finds himself in.

Maggie is back to help Amelia in Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2
Maggie comes knocking at Meredith’s door, and the two decide to help Amelia, who is grieving Beltran. They find Amelia in a depressed state. They finally manage to get her to leave her bed. Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2 also brought forth the happy news that Maggie is pregnant. While she was there for Amelia, she wanted them to know about the new development in her life as well. She shares that she got an unknown sperm donor.
While Amelia and Meredith welcome the news, they also give her a reality check and tell her about the difficult path ahead as a single mother. But despite the struggles that comes with raising a child, Meredith assures that a baby will make her happier than ever.
Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2 finds Jules struggling with trauma
After the events in Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 1, the OR is being restored. Beltran’s death continues to affect Jules, who appears lost. She seeks Winston’s help with the interns as well. She is determined to keep going and even gets on top of a new case.
Ben meanwhile has a more pressing matters in hand when a construction worker is impaled by a forklift truck. Ben’s actions during the incident impresses Bailey and Ben later gets promoted to Chief Resident. As everyone gets busy to help the injured patient, Teddy seems to be distracted by the load of files she must handle. Richard asks her to help with the patient while he takes care of her office.
Jules' struggles get even more severe as the Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2 develops. Winston and she will find mass on their patient. In the OR, Jule will experience a panic attack while operating. Even though Winston helps her through the trauma, Jules is still reeling from the loss. Winston manages to handle the situation himself.
There is a lot of discomfort in the air as Lucas is still at odds with Simone. There are things left unsaid and the tension between the two boils over into the workspace. Simone will emphasize that she only ever sought out a random person after Lucas broke up with her. But Lucas does suspect that the person is intern Wes, making their situation even more complicated.
Link isn’t coping well with his new reality in Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2
In the previous episode of Grey's Anatomy season 22, Link managed to survive a serious injury, thanks to the team of doctors. But he seems to be hiding the extent of his pain. Jo even shares with Owen her worry about the same. Link has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He is not coping well with the changes. He is concerned that he won't be able to hold his girls, who are due soon.
Link channels his anger towards Jo, who was only trying to help him. Owen becomes his sounding board and listens to him. Link does not like that Jo has been treating him as a patient and feels guilty that when so many people suffered, he managed to survive. However, later he does show remorse for not able to control his emotions.
Amelia had been spiraling out of control as she blames herself for the incident. She wonders if she should have disagreed to go ahead with the first surgery. But Maggie and Meredith realize that Amelia is just emotionally lashing out and try their best to comfort her.
Winston and Jules share details about the patient with his daughter. It appears that the patient suffered from trauma during his time in Cambodia. Jules also realizes that she needs to deal with her trauma as well. Jule holds a private memorial for Beltran.
Richard has helped clear Teddy’s desk. Teddy shares that though she loves her job, she is struggling to keep up with the constant workload. Richard assures that he will step in to help Teddy, taking on some of her duties.
One of the more unexpected twists came in the show when Amelia wants to take sabbatical from the hospital. She tells Richard that she will be taking a much-reserved break. Tensions with Teddy are still on as Owen is seen going to the trailer he used to live in once.
When Grey's Anatomy Season 22 episode 2 comes to a close, Meredith and Maggie are seen at a carousel.
