Ever since HBO announced its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, fans have been buzzing with excitement to return to the wizarding world, and this time with a fresh cast stepping into the shoes of the beloved characters.
Among the main cast of the series is Arabella Stanton, a young rising star from the UK, set to play Hermione Granger. What makes her casting even more intriguing is that before appearing on screen as Hermione, Arabella will first bring the character to life in the new audiobooks.
This means she will lend her voice to Hermione in "Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions," an audiobook series created by Pottermore Publishing and Audible. This way, Granger becomes the voice and face of Hermione for an entirely new generation.
Unlike the classic audiobooks that had a single narrator (like Jim Dale or Stephen Fry), this new version will feature over 200 voice actors, including some major Hollywood names. The first audiobook will be released on November 4, 2025. After that, the remaining six books will be released once a month, ending in May 2026.

HBO's Harry Potter TV series cast member Arabella Stanton to debut with audiobooks
Before she ever appears on screen, Arabella Stanton, who’s been cast as Hermione Granger in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot, will introduce her version of the character in a completely different way: through a brand-new full-cast audiobook series.
Produced by Pottermore Publishing and Audible, this new audiobook project will begin releasing in November 2025, and Stanton will voice Hermione in the first three titles: Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and Prisoner of Azkaban. These aren’t just traditional audiobooks.
They’re "immersive," cinematic experiences featuring sound effects, music, and a full cast of performers. The casting of Stanton in both the audiobook and TV series creates a unique bridge between the two formats, giving fans an early taste of her interpretation of Hermione before the live-action version arrives.
It’s a smart move that’s already building excitement within the fandom. It's been years since the original films concluded, and now it's time for new and longtime fans to revisit the story.
A star-studded cast brings the wizarding world to life in Harry Potter audiobooks

Arabella isn’t the only big name involved in the new audiobook series. The project includes a mix of acclaimed actors, with Hugh Laurie voicing Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Snape, and Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall. Cush Jumbo will narrate the series.
The series will feature Dolby Atmos sound design, creating an immersive listening experience that feels as magical as the books themselves. With over 200 performers contributing across the seven books, this project aims to reintroduce the Harry Potter story to a new generation and reimagine it for longtime fans.
Stanton’s early debut through this format gives her a strong connection to audiences, and it sets the stage for her eventual TV appearance as one of the most beloved characters in the franchise.
