The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 was officially confirmed by Amazon in February 2025. Now, it appears that filming for the third season has begun, as three new casting announcements were revealed in June 2025. Several outlets on June 12, 2025, reported that three actors, Adam Young, Andrew Richardson, and Zubin Varla, have joined the production.
Amazon's entertainment division confirmed this casting and revealed that the three actors had joined The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3, as it began filming just recently at the UK's Shepperton Studios.

As mentioned before, these three actors' roles haven't been publicly revealed. However, all of these actors have appeared in well-known shows and franchises before joining The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3. For instance, Andrew Richardson was one of the many actors who had appeared on 2023's Extrapolations. The other two actors, on the other hand, have experience with franchises.
Adam Young played a role in Witcher: Blood Origin, and Zubin Varla appeared in a few episodes of Andor Season 1. While these actors might not have big names, they are experienced and prolific enough for the people involved in the show to cast them for undisclosed roles in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3.

"If someone has information for me, I would be asking the same thing. I can't tease much. I'm excited to get back to Season 3. There's a time jump—I know that that's been publicly said—with how we left off in Season 2. When we return in Season 3, we're going to be moving forward, and that's all I know. I don't know much else, but I am definitely excited to return to Middle-earth. It's obviously this weird shift to go from that to this, a contemporary story back to that. But yeah, I'll be excited to go back and see what they're up to over there."
