The Rings of Power Season 3 has finally welcomed new additions to its cast. Among them is Andor's Zubin Varla. With his experience playing Xanwan in the Star Wars series, Varla will be seen in Prime Video's Middle-earth series now. His specific role in The Rings of Power Season 3 remains unrevealed, but he will be in a recurring role, according to IGN.

Varla's casting is another talent crossover from big franchises to the growing universe of The Rings of Power. In addition to Varla, two more cast additions have been confirmed by Amazon for Season 3: Andrew Richardson and Adam Young. Richardson will be a series regular, and Young will also be recurring.

Both actors join as the show is in production on season three, with filming ongoing at Shepperton Studios in England. Details on what they will be playing are not disclosed, but this casting follows the show's trend of signing actors from other successful television and film endeavors.

New cast members officially revealed for The Rings of Power Season 3

Amazon announced that three actors will be joining The Rings of Power Season 3. They are Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young. Richardson is going to be a series regular. Both Varla and Young are going to have recurring roles. No storylines or character names involving these actors have been announced so far.

This secrecy is by the show's standard practice. Previous seasons of The Rings of Power also kept character information under wraps until release. Production on the show is already underway in the UK, with Shepperton Studios serving as the main filming location.

Zubin Varla moves from Andor to The Rings of Power Season 3

Zubin Varla played the role of Xanwan in Andor, a Star Wars series released on Disney+. Xanwan was a friend of the main character, Cassian Andor, and lived on the planet Ferrix. Next, Varla will move from the Star Wars universe to Middle-earth.

In The Rings of Power Season 3, he will be seen in a recurring role. Details of his character have not yet been revealed by Amazon or the showrunners. Varla is among many actors from huge franchises who are joining The Rings of Power Season 3 to add punch to the cast, according to IGN.

Returning actors and production updates

The Rings of Power Season 3 continues its emphasis on Second Age Middle-earth events. Important characters like Galadriel, Sauron, and Elrond will be returning. Actors Morfydd Clark, Charlie Vickers, and Robert Aramayo are already known to reprise their roles.

Other new names like Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan have also been included for Season 3. Production has already begun in Shepperton Studios, United Kingdom. There is no release date announced for the new season as of yet.

Plot twists to be seen in The Rings of Power Season 3

Plot information for Season 3 is still scarce. Yet, based on previous interviews with the showrunners, a time jump is to be included in this season. This indicates that the story will unfold several years after Season 2. This time frame brings the show nearer to the establishment of Sauron's power and the war referred to as the War of the Elves and Sauron.

Also, some of the older mysteries are going to be answered. For instance, in accordance with statements made by the show's creators, the dark figure who tormented Gandalf in previous episodes isn't Saruman, dispelling one of the popular fan theories. With old plotlines being continued and new characters introduced, Season 3 is going to broaden the scope of the show.

Stay tuned for more updates!
