Prime Video's Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will take the chaos, music and mayhem to another level as its creator Vivienne Medrano expands her animated universe.

With its eye-popping visuals, Broadway-style numbers and wit, the adult series centres on Charlie Morningstar, the princess of Hell. She wants to rehabilitate demons through her hotel.

The series returns with eight new episodes on October 29, 2025, after its debut season broke streaming records. Hazbin Hotel season 2 is set to explore the darker side of Hell’s inhabitants, exposing the fear and insecurities they keep behind their flashy looks.

Two episodes will be available weekly until November 19. Fans can expect a mix of character-based drama and dazzling musical numbers. Charlie’s quest to bring redemption gets harder as the Vees-Velvette, Valentino and Vox seek to take over Heaven, threatening to raise the stakes for everyone’s soul, not just their own.

How Alastor faces his Season 1 defeat in Hazbin Hotel Season 2

The Season 1 finale ended with Alastor suffering a defeat when the arrogant angel from Heaven, Adam, defeated him in combat. It’s just Niffty who ends up slaying Adam, but the confrontation left the radio demon’s pride badly damaged.

In an interview with The Direct at NYCC, Talai also discussed how Alastor will handle this emotional fallout in Hazbin Hotel Season 2. He revealed:

“Well, so, outwardly, he certainly is gonna react the way he reacts to everything, which is a smile. I don't think he's gonna let on to what extent he is hurt, to what extent he's scared, but I think internally, there's a real sense that, like he didn't think that was possible, it wasn't possible to be hurt in that way.”

He further explained that Alastor’s fear will drive his decisions throughout the season. Talai added:

“And so there is a fear and a desperation to make sure that that cannot happen again. And I think that that's going to be sort of a really interesting part of his journey in this season. First of all, how do I get out of my deal? Because that's very, very-I know that as long as I'm under someone's power, I can be hurt, right? So how do I get out of my deal? And I think that's going to be interesting to see where he goes.”

Alastor’s journey in Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will focus on the emotional cost of power and control. Known for his ever-present smile and radio-show dramatics, his attempts to hide his insecurity might be one of the series' most intriguing plotlines yet.
