Sylvester Stallone is back as Dwight Manfredi in Tulsa King Season 3. The show is one of the most-watched crime dramas of recent times, thanks to its intriguing storyline and power-packed performances.
Actor Frank Grillo joined the show's cast in the previous season and soon became a series regular. His role as the antagonistic Bill Bevilaqua, who stirred up trouble for Dwight, has been loved by the audience.
Grillo has now talked about his experience of sharing screen space with a legendary actor like Sylvester Stallone. In an interview with Collider, Grillo revealed that despite being 79 years old, Stallone has a commendable work ethic and is always very generous towards his co-stars:
“There’s a passion, at 79, that he still carries for the work, and a generosity. He understands who he is and what effect he has on people, especially actors, but his generosity as a fellow actor is true immediately in a place where he’s making you better, you know what I mean?”
Tulsa King Season 3 star Frank Grillo opens up about working with Sylvester Stallone
During the interview, Frank Grillo added that Sylvester Stallone is an amazing individual who lets his colleagues be real and creative. Highlighting how he had a great time working with him on Tulsa King, the actor said:
“You can be yourself [around him], and creative. I can’t say enough great things about this guy; he’s a really amazing individual.”
Grillo joined the show in Season 2 as Bill Bevilaqua, the boss of the Kansas City mob, and is reprising his role in Season 3. His gang has had a great influence across the Midwest for many years, including Tulsa. His great-grandfather helped start the mob during Prohibition, and Bill continued his violent legacy.
Bill started causing trouble in Tulsa King Season 2 when he heard that Dwight had opened a casino in the city and was also getting into the cannabis trade. He did not like outsiders in his land, so he began meddling in Dwight’s business. Bill is a proud and hot-headed guy who is very protective of his people, and Grillo has brilliantly portrayed all these shades of the character.
Apart from the Paramount+ crime drama, Grillo has been seen in the shows Peacemaker, Paul T. Goldman, Kingdom, The Gates, Blind Justice, and Prison Break. He has starred in films like Superman, King of Killers, One Day as a Lion, and Zero Dark Thirty.
Tulsa King Season 3 premiered on Paramount+ on September 21, 2025. Apart from Grillo and Stallone, the show stars Martin Starr as Bohdi Geigerman, Jay Will as Tyson Mitchell, Max Casella as Manny Truisi, Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci, and Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller.
The rest of the cast includes Dana Delany as Margaret Deveraux, Annabella Sciorra as Joanne Manfredi, and Neal McDonough as Cal Thresher. The new season has also added Beau Knapp, Robert Patrick, Kevin Pollak, and Bella Heathcote to the cast.
