How long will the Peacemaker Season 2 finale be? Here's what James Gunn revealed

This is because of James Gunn and John Cena's interview with Entertainment Weekly, which was published in May this year. There, Gunn revealed that the season 2 finale will feature a major cameo that may set up the DCU:

"You've seen what we call the QUC, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, in the first season of Peacemaker, and we see more about that technology in Superman. The QUC is the center of the story in Peacemaker season 2... We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [including] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman. There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show."

Then, John Cena confirmed the importance of this season in the overall narrative of the DCU. According to the wrestler-turned-actor, the second season:

“Is about furthering the narrative. Instead of stand-alone properties, all of the DCU is now connected, as you saw Peacemaker show up in Superman. I think what you see in season two is just a forward of that narrative. That whole DCU throughline — it takes the 11th Street Kids through their next adventure, but it also has a lot to do with the DCU going forward.”
