The ending of Two Graves unravels the dark truth behind Marta's death
As Isabel sets out to discover what went on with her granddaughter and her friend after they disappeared from a party, she uncovers something much more grave. As it turns out, Isabel's piano student, Beltran, ends up revealing that the young girls were at a party that involved drug usage, alcohol, and high society people who paid for sex. However, unable to stand hearing such things about her granddaughter, Isabel ends up killing Beltran.
Now, the real mystery is uncovered after Isabel teams up with Marta's father, Rafael Salazar, to find out what happened to their girls. The answer, surprisingly comes from Antonio, Veronica's father.
It turns out that while Veronica was used to visiting such parties, it was Marta's first time, and she got extremely anxious with the drug use. When Veronica went to get water for her, Carlos Jaen, a famous TV presenter, assaulted her. After regaining sense following the incident, Marta wanted to reach out to the police, but Veronica insisted that it would lead to a lot of trouble for all of them.
Marta also knew that if her father found out about the incident, he would definitely ensure justice for his daughter but he would also never let her leave the house. Feeling helpless, Marta picks up a broken bottle in a bid to slit her wrists. Veronica tries to stop her, and the bottle cuts into her neck. In a fit of rage, Veronica ends up pushing Marta, who dies instantaneously after hitting her head on a bench.
Veronica rushes to her father and tells him everything that happened, and insists they should inform the police. However, Antonio, knowing that Rafael, a criminal, would kill Veronica if he found out, decided that the best course of action would be to fly Veronica out of the country, and make it seem like she had disappeared.
The ending of Two Graves reveals that Veronica is still alive and well, but would not return to the country as long as Marta's father, Rafael, was alive.
Two Graves is available to stream on Netflix.
