Victoria Neuman’s gory death in The Boys was one of the most shocking moments from the Season 4 finale, further increasing the stakes of the titular vigilante's rivalry with Homelander and his Supes in the final season.
Initially introduced as a congresswoman and Vice President-Elect of the United States, Victoria is eventually revealed as a Supe, an ally to Homelander and the infamous head-popper, who murdered dozens of people at Vought scientist Jonah Vogalbaum's press conference.
However, in The Boys Season 4 finale, Victoria was fed up with Homelander's tyrannical power, who even revealed her as a Supe in front of the world. The congresswoman realised that it was finally time to switch sides. While Victoria was about to enter into a contract with Hughie and the titular vigilantes to kill Homelander, Butcher appeared with a vendetta against the Supes.
Unaware of Victoria's recent proposal, Butcher picked her up with his chest tentacles and ripped her body in half. Victoria was brutally killed by Butcher, who channeled his inner Supe and lost control in the Season 4 finale.
More on this in our story.
The Boys: Why did Victoria Neuman go against Homelander in the Season 4 finale
Victoria Neuman's death was easily one of the most brutal and sudden deaths in The Boys universe. While Victoria was once a loyal ally of Homelander and served as a secondary antagonist to the titular vigilantes, she was growing frustrated with Homelander's tyranny. In Season 4, Homelander proved that he is ready to throw anybody under the bus and revealed Victoria's supe's powers in front of the world.
However, after Victoria realised that Homelander's plan to kill Bob Singer had failed terribly, she had a final confrontation with him in the Season 4 finale. This was the point when Homelander had grown even more vicious and was desperate to have control over the government. When Victoria told him about his failed plan, he revealed that he would not give up and even threatened to harm Victoria and her daughter, Zoe. Since Victoria knew that even her Supe powers were not enough to kill Homelander, she decided to join hands with The Boys.
This certainly looked like a turning point for the show, and it was suggested that Homelander would finally be defeated in the final season of the show, thanks to Victoria Neuman's latest partnership with the Boys, until she was shockingly killed by Butcher.
How did Butcher kill Victoria Neuman in The Boys Season 4 finale?
Victoria Neuman might be no match for Homelander, but she still possessed a very powerful Supe power, which is to control the blood of anyone in her sight and chop their heads into multiple pieces. However, the way Butcher killed her in The Boys Season 4 finale, it seemed like our vigilante was fully prepared to destroy her, which is why he first targeted her eyes.
After her fallout with Homelander in The Boys Season 4 finale, Victoria Neuman contacted Hughie and suggested that they work together to take his tyrannical force down. While Hughie was working on the details of their contract with Victoria, Billy the Butcher made an unexpected appearance, with tentacles protruding from his chest. It was also revealed that Butcher has finally learned to control the creature inside him, following his reconciliation with Joe Kessler.
Butcher wasted no moment and used Victoria's only limitation against her in the finale. While Victoria's blood manipulation ability is powerful, it is limited and requires her to have sight of her victim. Butcher smartly targeted Victoria's eyes and, firstly, wrapped his tentacles around the Supe's eyes, which rendered her powerless. He then wasted no time and grabbed Victoria from his tentacles and raised her in the air. When he finally had the Supe at his mercy, he ripped her body in half, with Victoria's guts and blood spilling on the floor.
Victoria's death was certainly the most gory and brutal in the series, and also took away The Boys' last hope to defeat Homelander in the final season. With the Supe dead, it would be exciting to see how the titular vigilantes will destroy Homelander and his Supes in The Boys Season 5.
