24 in 24: Last Chef Standing Season 2 finale featured Chef Kevin Lee grabbing the last spot in the Top 5 finalists. Along with him, there were Stephanie Izard, Nini Nguyen, Jonathon Sawyer, and Bryan Voltaggio as the finalists.

After 20 hours of cooking, Chef Kevin Lee won the first challenge. For that, he won the Golden Knife. With that, he was given some tasks, including assigning the protein to his fellow finalists. However, later on, Kevin Lee faced elimination and was sent home right before the finale.

Being such an accomplished, skilled, and experienced chef, I believe Chef Kevin Lee's elimination from the finale was not justified. Keeping the English muffin whole doesn't count as an elimination error. Making it up to 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing Season 2 Top 5, and being sent home, surely broke many viewers' hearts.

24 in 24: Last Chef Standing Season 2 finale: Kevin Lee's elimination was an absolutely unexpected and unjustified

After being in the Top 5, Kevin Lee, once more, showed his skills and won the Golden Knife. With that, he was given particular assignment tasks. He was supposed to choose the protein for himself and his fellow finalists. That too showed his strategically chosen choices.

Later on, when he was supposed to choose the cooking style, he went with classic. It was the first challenge, so everyone was assigned to make a classic breakfast. With his lobster eggs Benedict with avocado and herb bernaise sauce, he was eliminated.

The reason was that he didn't split the English muffin, making the dish bread-heavy, and the hot food wilted the lettuce. With such minor tweaks, it should not have resulted in Kevin's elimination. It was 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing Season 2 finale, and that has quite the weight in it.

If Kevin Lee had not been eliminated for the muffin split and lettuce, he might have made it to the Top 2. With his passion and determination, Chef Lee might even have won the show. His elimination resulted in many fans being disappointed with the show's finale.

Some of the fans shared their sentiments via social media platforms and shared their views.

A fan wrote on X:

"I really wanted Kevin to win. Definitely need blind taste testing in the finale. It’s the only way judges can be completely unbiased. #24in24."

Another fan commented about Kevin:

"#24in24 @FoodNetwork Kevin!!! I was pulling for you! You were awesome! They put you through hell! You had to not only cook but go against the judges best friend Brian. This was the BIGGEST full of s*it judging!"

While some fans criticized the show's finale for not incorporating blind tasting, others mentioned judgment behind Kevin's elimination.

Undoubtedly, each of the cheftestants comes from a wide exposure to the cooking field and years of experience; having such an elimination, that too during the show's finale, was truly unexpected.
