Blue Bloods is an American television series that combines family drama with police and legal drama. It centers on the family of the Reagans, a multi-generational family connected to the law enforcement culture in New York City.
The series premiered in September 2010 and concluded in December 2024. The strength of the series was its run of 14 seasons and 293 episodes that created a constant, steady fandom.
Although Friday nights are tough for scripted dramas in the ratings, Blue Bloods was a consistent performer on that night. At one point, it was the fourth most-watched returning drama airing on CBS, which denotes the strength of the fan base that embraced the show.
Each character in the show is important, and among them is Officer Edit "Eddie" Janko-Reagan, played by actress Vanessa Ray. Her character was introduced in Season 4 and remained a key figure until the show's finale.
In one of the interviews, Ray was asked to reveal that one thing she'd love to take from the Blue Bloods set when the show comes to an end, to whihc she mentioned a specific piece of furniture, a unique chair that sits in the on-screen home shared by Jamie and Eddie. The actress said:
"But it’s such a weird chair and I love it so much. I’m sure I probably wouldn’t be able to take that because it’s too big of a thing."
She describes the chair as being shaped almost like a birdcage. Specifically, an "egg chair" with a round, enclosed structure and a base that allows it to spin. Neither she nor her co-star really knows where this chair came from.

When Vanessa Ray revealed what she'd love to take away from the sets of Blue Bloods
Vanessa Ray played one of the most important figures in the fan-adored TV series, Blue Bloods, and even after its cancellation, fans love to revisit memories about it. As mentioned above, Ray talked about the special chair she would want to take when the show ends.
None of the co-stars knew where their chair came from. There's a bit of playful confusion: Was it part of Jamie’s original apartment? Did Eddie bring it in? Or did the fictional couple buy it together? The show never explains it, and it’s just become part of the background.
The actress added:
"So I mean, that’s what I would want to take is that egg chair because it’s so weird and rad. It’s always fun to sit in. It’s always fun and you spin!"
The chair is special to Vanessa Ray because it is mostly off-camera and was used as a space for her and her co-star to hang out in between scenes. She knows it is "weird and rad," but also fun and cozy.
Ray loves that the chair has orange corduroy cushions, and it became a quirky favorite of hers on set. She joked she probably wouldn't be allowed to take it because it was too big, but she wishes, because that is definitely the one thing she would take from the show.
