Love Island UK contestant Lucy Quinn has addressed the viral voice note controversy that erupted during her time on the show. The Liverpool-based makeup artist became a central talking point after a WhatsApp voice message surfaced while she was still in Majorca, revealing her intent to couple up with Tommy Bradley to reach “all the way to the end.”

The voice note quickly made the rounds on social media, drawing criticism over Lucy’s perceived strategy and harsh comments about fellow Islander Megan Clarke. On July 20, following her elimination from the villa, Lucy appeared on Love Island: Aftersun alongside Tommy, where she openly confirmed sending the voice note and offered an explanation.

“I did say till the end, but it weren't the final, I meant the end… I would like to be with him in the future,” she told host Maya Jama, defending her actions and expressing regret over comments made in the leaked audio.

Love Island UK: Lucy addresses voice note leak and clarifies her intentions

Lucy Quinn, 21, had entered Love Island UK as a Casa Amor bombshell and secured a place in the main villa after coupling up with 22-year-old Tommy Bradley. Despite their efforts, the pair was eventually eliminated from the show.

However, before their departure from Love Island UK, the voice note leak sparked widespread attention. In the voice message, Lucy expressed her belief that pairing with Tommy would ensure her spot in the final. The clip included her stating,

“I said, Tommy, I want Tommy. I feel like if I'm with Tommy I feel like I'll get all the way to the end. Because everyone loves him.”

During her appearance on Love Island: Aftersun on July 20, Lucy confirmed to presenter Maya Jama that the voice note was real. She explained,

“So obviously, like, we've probably all done it... sent voicenotes to friends and obviously I really did trust that friend and with the Tommy situation, I was obviously saying he's a very nice boy and that's why I wanted to get to know him.”

Clarifying her remarks in the leaked audio, Lucy explained that when she said "till the end," she didn’t mean the final of the show, but rather that she hoped to be with Tommy in the future. She praised his morals and shared that her father had already approved of him, saying Tommy was the kind of respectful guy he'd want her to bring home.

The voice note, which gained millions of views on social media platforms, included not only Lucy’s plans regarding Tommy but also derogatory remarks about Tommy’s previous partner, Megan Clarke. In the message, Lucy had said:

“That Megan's being sent home and I'm f****** made up. And she's being sent home because of the way she's treated Tommy.” She went on to say, “Because she's being a f****** little s****** in there. The public have voted her out. So I just need to be a nice girl and just f****** stick with Tommy.”

Reflecting on her past comments, Lucy admitted on Love Island: Aftersun that she regretted speaking about Megan without ever meeting her. She acknowledged it was rude and out of character, saying she genuinely apologized for making such remarks. Despite the backlash surrounding the voice note, Love Island UK's Tommy Bradley has stood by Lucy. On Love Island: Aftersun, he said:

“You said as well, at the time, we're all just characters on the screen to her.”

He acknowledged Lucy’s excitement and nerves before entering one of the UK's biggest reality shows, Love Island UK, adding,

“I know you were very excited to be going on one of the biggest reality shows in the country... emotions were high and you were speaking to one of your close friends.”

Tommy defended Lucy, saying her message was taken out of context. He explained that everyone says things in private that they wouldn’t expect to be made public, and the situation had been exaggerated because it was never meant to be heard by others.
