"I had strong feelings": Destination X host Jeffrey Dean Morgan opens up about his emotions towards the players

NBC's Destination X is set to premiere on May 27, 2025, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the host. The latest travel competition series will feature 12 strangers travelling in a "blacked-out bus."

Ahead of the show's premiere, show host Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared feelings of various emotions towards the players in his May 26, 2025, interview with the TV Insider. He stated that there was a "mix of people" and "personalities" in the bus:

"The mix of people on that bus, the personalities — I had strong feelings toward all of 'em. Some I wanted to punch, some I adored."

He added:

"I think what appealed to NBC was I could put people on their heels, but also I’m a guy you want to have a beer with."

NBC will premiere the much-awaited Destination X, the new reality show featuring exciting twists and turns. It will be hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who shared how he had "strong" feelings towards the players ahead of the show's premiere.

For fans who might not know, there will be 12 strangers, including some of the renowned celebrities. They include Love Island USA's JaNa Craig, The Bachelor and The Traitors' Peter Weber, and Big Brother Season 19's Josh Martinez.

Sharing more about the players, the host said that it was "amazing" that the relationships that grow throughout the show start to affect participants' gameplay. Jeffrey Dean Morgan recalled watching an episode that got him "teared up" because of the "brutality" of the gameplay, while everyone is trying to win it.

"You're stuck with these folks, and it's amazing the relationships that happen and how that affects the gameplay — more as the episodes go on. I teared up watching an episode today because of these relationships that are formed and the brutality of what the game really is and what you're trying to win," he said.

The Destination X host added that the "roller-coaster" ride the players experienced on the show was "extraordinary."

AS NBC describes the show, the players' "strategic gameplay" will be tested as:

"They eat, sleep, and travel together through Europe’s most desirable locations on the Destination X bus."

It further mentions:

"The players each share an unmistakable sense of wanderlust, but with constantly shifting alliances and unexpected adversaries, they're forced to discover who they can trust, whose strengths will take them the farthest, and who to send to the Map Room."

In another video clip shared by NBC via Facebook, host Jeffrey Dean Morgan outlined the show's rules. He mentioned trusting nobody because on Destination X, nothing was as it seemed.

The second rule was that the path was never "straightforward," followed by the third rule, "expect the unexpected." As he shared the rules, the clip featured some of the players sharing their strategy and how they were trying to guess their location.
