A brand-new intern class is set to enter the Sacred Heart Hospital in Scrubs after 10 very long years. Ever since ABC renewed the iconic hospital-set comedy, loyal fans have been looking forward to updates about new additions as well as returning stars.

In a recent conversation with ScreenRant about his recent film Regretting You, Dave Franco, who joined the Scrubs cast in Season 9, revealed whether he would return for the reboot series.

The Scrubs revival, unlike the second final season, will not focus entirely on the new group of interns as the center stage, but will instead be told exclusively from Dr. John Dorian's (JD) perspective on how everything has changed over the years, from the medicine to the interns.

This allows the show to keep an open door for the characters introduced in the previous season, such as Franco's Cole, Mosley's Drew, and Bishé's Lucky.

Recently, Dave Franco, who joined Scrubs Season 9 as Cole Aaronson, revealed that, according to him, the revival series announced after the end of a show are not always well received by fans. A show's end finds them bidding an emotional goodbye to the characters they've loved for a long time, just to find out that they will be returning later.

"The final moment of the final episode of season 8 was behind-the-scenes footage of all of them saying goodbye to each other in real life and bawling. And then they're like, "We're coming back for one more!" "

He added that he had a great time working with the set of people that he worked with for Scrubs Season 9. However, the fact that these revivals are not received well tells him that the fans of the show don't want him back on the sequel revival. Nevertheless, he concluded by saying that he would definitely be open to returning if ABC and Lawrence were to invite him.

The series creator, Bill Lawrence, previously commented that while the possibility of these new characters returning for Season 10 is slim, it is not completely out of the question.

He explained that since the ninth season saw these characters as med students, they would then go on to practice medicine around the world, explaining their absence from Sacred Heart Hospital. The sequel revival has thus far pivoted away from the controversial ninth season and tried to go back to focusing on the legacy characters at the forefront, with new interns on the back burner, thereby slimming the chance of these characters' return.

So far, it doesn't look like we'll get to witness Dave Franco's Cole Aaronson on the Scrubs revival.
