Cashero is the latest K-drama on Netflix that has hooked viewers with its short but powerful narrative. The K-drama follows Kang Sung-ung, a civil servant who gains superpowers with which he can help the people in need. However, his powers are linked to the cash he owns, and every time he uses the powers, the money vanishes.

The eight-part K-drama focuses on Sang-ung's story and how he initially tries to avoid spending money by using his powers, but still gets entangled with other people with superpowers to bring down the Jo family, who hunt and steal superpowers from individuals like Sang-ung. Cashero blends fantasy, action, and various other genres to create the perfect story revolving around a reluctant superhero.

However, this isn't the only K-drama that revolves around superheroes in the modern world; the 2020 K-drama The Uncanny Counter has a similar captivating story that will keep you hooked just as Cashero did, as it also focuses on people with superhero powers fighting unjust and evil beings.

More on this in our story.

Similar premise of Cashero and The Uncanny Counter

Netflix's Cashero revolves around Sang-ung, who gains superpowers from his father, who wants him to use them to help people. However, as it drains his money, he initially tries to avoid helping anyone, to save it to buy a new home with his girlfriend. But circumstances start to form around him, forcing him to use his powers.

He joins several other people with superpowers to fight the Jo siblings, who want to steal these superpowers for their benefit. Through the story of Sang-ung, the K-drama creates a thrilling yet compassionate narrative that will tug at your heartstrings with its emotional moments and also keep you on the edge of your seat with its action sequences.

As the K-drama is a limited series and consists of only eight episodes, it might leave you wanting more. Therefore, you can then check out 2020's popular K-drama, The Uncanny Counter, which shares a similar premise. The tvN K-drama, also available to stream on Netflix, follows the story of So Mun, a high school student with a disability due to a car accident in his childhood. He also has superhuman strength and begins working at a noodle restaurant, employees of which also have superpowers and hunt demons living among humans.

Like in the latest K-drama, the group in The Uncanny Counter also uses their superpowers to help the humans who have no idea about the evil living among them. However, unlike Cashero, the tvN K-drama consists of 2 seasons, giving it more time to create perfect character arcs, which makes it one of the best superhero K-dramas.

Other than the premise and action sequences, the protagonists' stories in both the K-dramas also resemble each other a little. From losing powers and dying or being left in a comatose state (in So Mun's case), both go through numerous hardships throughout the series. However, in the end, everything aligns, and they both succeed in their plans as Sang-ung gets to buy a new home, and So Mun also meets his parents for one last time.

Therefore, if you have finished Cashero and want to check out more K-dramas like it, The Uncanny Counter is one to add to the watchlist.
