The Alien Earth season finale trailer is finally out, and it shows Wendy (Sydney Chandler) making a run for her life, while potentially plotting a plan with the Xenomorph.

The promo for the first season's finale teases Wendy trying to find a way out of Prodigy's research facility. It sees her arguing with Joe (Alex Lawther) and disagreeing with him over what the creature represents. She differs in her views, likely guided by her deep-seated fear and distrust of corporations like Prodigy. In the promo, she says,

"All this time, we've been afraid of them, but they should be afraid of us."

It sets the stage for a climactic season finale where Wendy seems to have reached the other end of the rope, trying desperately to escape the forces that hold them captive. Besides this dialogue, the trailer also shows Morrow (Babou Ceesay) with a wounded eye, speaking about the ability of being more than human.

Dame Sylvia (Essie Davis) looks profoundly upset with the state of the children as she watches a video of them speaking about their pain. Boy Cavalier (Samuel Blenkin) looks determined as he looks at the video footage of Wendy, but otherwise terrified for what's about to come in the facility. Overall, it builds the right kinds of expectations for the Alien Earth season finale.

Noah Hawley, who oversees the creative direction of Alien Earth, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his project. He touched on the tensions between the humans, the hybrids, and the unknown creatures. On the topic of sustaining the tension through the first season's eight-episode run, he said,

"The other thing, of course, is that an Alien movie is a two-hour survival story, and a television show has to be an ongoing series. You have to use the monsters in a different way. You certainly want to use them in the classic way, but you also have to figure out how to sustain having monsters in your show when the reality is they would kill everyone, or that you would kill them, and then that would be it. Bringing in other creatures allowed me to take the pressure off the xenomorphs to fill that void."

He also explained how he envisions Wendy's bond with these creatures,

"There’s also this idea of the hubris of people — that classic Jurassic Park thing of “just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.” And the naiveté of children, as well. There’s a romanticism that can happen in kids."

He added,

"She wants to believe that it’s not these creatures’ fault, that they didn’t ask to come here, and we shouldn’t experiment on them the way that she’s being experimented on. You can understand the rationale. But it doesn’t make it safe to make friends with one."
