Seth Rogen made headlines soon after the premiere of his hit comedy series, The Studio on Apple TV+.
The actor and comedian has already made a name with some of his best performances, including his role as Will in Platonic, and this year, he offered a dive into a show that follows behind-the-scenes chaos at a big Hollywood movie studio.
Interestingly, Rogen didn't just play the lead character. He also worked as the creator, along with Evan Goldberg, to show how things really work in the film industry. Following the success of season 1, Apple TV+ didn't take much time in renewing the show for another chapter.
The news officially came out on May 6, 2025, as the creators said, "We’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio". And now, in a recent interview, Seth Rogen has given another exciting update for those waiting for the chaos in Season 2. Rogen said:
"We’re in the midst of writing. At the end of the week, I’m pitching the season to Apple to see if they have any major concerns."
He continues:
"[Laughs] So, yeah, I think it’s going really well, I’m excited about it."
The show is basically a funny, exaggerated look at how things really work in the film industry. You get to see how studios scramble to fix things when a movie flops, how egos clash, and how everything can fall apart over one bad decision.
Seth Rogen confirms season 2 of The Studio is currently being written
Apple TV+ officially renewed The Studio for a second season on May 6, 2025, even before the first season finished airing. The announcement came via a press release from Apple, confirming the show’s imminent return.
Fans appreciated how each episode cleverly and humorously revealed a side of Hollywood most people rarely get to see. It shows Rogen' Matt Remick’s wild ride from suddenly getting promoted to head of a major film studio to constantly dealing with delicate and downright chaotic moments.
Whether it's giving harsh notes to Ron Howard, trying to control on-set disasters, or surviving a PR nightmare at CinemaCon, Matt is always in over his head. And now, the team is working on the writing part of The Studio Season 2.
The creators of the hit TV series previously said:
"We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons."
They continued:
"And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+."
Seth Rogen had even teased a dream guest star: Vin Diesel, calling it a hilarious idea to depict his persona outside of the Fast & Furious franchise. Other guest-star pitches include Daniel Day-Lewis, James Cameron, Kristen Stewart, Al Pacino, Leonardo DiCaprio, Zendaya, and Larry David, as cast members have floated them as ideal cameos or creative scenarios.
Since the show is in the writing stage, no release date has been confirmed. However, it's expected that The Studio Season 2 will arrive in late 2026.
