Invasion Season 3 Episode 4 recap: The mission faces unexpected challenges

Invasion Season 3 Episode 4 brought forth some startling revelations that can put the whole of humanity in jeopardy. The episode, which is aptly titled ‘The Mission’, focuses on the many challenges faced by Aneesha along with her family as well as the looming danger of the alien species, which is back in a more threatening avatar.

The Apple TV+ science fiction series, created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, revolves around an alien invasion, which quickly spirals humankind into chaos. Unsuspecting people across the globe come together to fight the aliens as they not just navigate through the external threat but also within the system. In Invasion Season 3, the aliens have evolved into a more dangerous form as the soldiers prepare to get into the mothership.

When the world starts falling apart in Invasion Season 3 Episode 4

At the end of Episode 3, titled 'Infinitas,' we see chilling tentacles coming out of the ocean portal, confirming the inevitable. It is understood that the alien portals are not completely gone, as people previously believed.

Clark, his kids, and Jamila are on the edge as they learn about the latest developments on the television. A state of emergency has been declared, with people being asked to find cover. As per Clark, however, the danger to them is not immediate. He is certain that the army will take care of the situation and ensure that the ordinary people are not affected.

Invasion Season 3 Episode 4 revolves around the plan to infiltrate the alien mothership, which slowly takes shape. One of the more concerning twists comes when Jack Hollander informs Nikhil that the bullets made with the extracts of the alien spaceship cannot be used against the extraterrestrials. This means their defense strategy has taken a big hit. The new vine-like tentacles are protecting the hunting aliens, and they have no means to stop them unless they come up with something else.

So, what really happened to the aliens after they retreated? While the humans believed that they had successfully stopped and defeated the invasion, the aliens had gone to the Dead Zone to recuperate and evolve into a higher species to fight back. World Defense Command, meanwhile, rejoiced in the triumph, without a second thought. Now they are less prepared than ever, making the whole situation even more threatening.

The mission to take control of the alien mothership takes shape

Invasion Season 3 Episode 4 also finds Trevante and Aneesha, who were taken by WDC after being found along with the members of Infinitas, a rebel group. Trevante undergoes interrogation about his claims of visions about the alien. He recalls seeing a huge, intimidating creature with countless tentacles. But Jack Hollander is skeptical of his claims and rejects the idea that the aliens can project visions in Trevante’s mind.

There are bigger concerns for WDC currently as they find out the hard way that the alien vessel cannot be damaged despite several bombing efforts. The only way forward is to infiltrate the ship and place a bomb there to destroy it from within. Trevante is given the responsibility to helm the mission.

On the other hand, Invasion Season 3, Episode 4 also brings forth Mitsuki’s hatred for WDC, which is evident in her attitude. It is revealed that she had undergone traumatic experiments here. Even though she does not want to, she is forced to work with the team as part of the mission, since it was previously established that she has a telepathic bond with the alien hive mind.

The team will get on a helicopter to go to the Dead Zone. While many soldiers are enthusiastic about the mission and look up to Trevante, he does not seem too eager. Both Trevante and Mitsuki are there reluctantly. Towards the end of Invasion Season 3, Episode 4, as the helicopter carrying the two gets near the mothership, the tentacles come up and break the vehicle, leading to its crash.

Aneesha gets caught in an unexpected situation

Invasion Season 3, Episode 4 sees Aneesha being interrogated for her alleged involvement with the rebel group. When she denies the knowledge and states that her presence at the house was just accidental, the interrogators reveal that there were searches for Infinitas from her IP address.

When Aneesha gets the chance to call Clark, along with Jamila, he immediately arrives at the office. They insist that she has nothing to do with the terrorist group. They meet the nephew of another older woman called Verna Potter, who is also held hostage along with Aneesha. The nephew sends some medications for Verna, which leads to a seizure, and she collapses.

Verna is taken into the ambulance, where her nephew, along with Clark, Aneesha, and Jamila, also enters. They drive away from the office discreetly. It is revealed that Verna, as well as the nephew, is part of the Infinitas. In the commotion to escape, Aneesha and her family get involved with the Infinitas unintentionally.
