Prime Video’s Gen V premiered in 2023 and fit right into The Boys' narrative. The show tells the story of teenagers with superpowers at Godolkin University and delves into their lives as they try to figure out how to use their powers and whom they will support.

The trailer for Gen V Season 2 teased the finale and the upcoming war that will take place in the final season of the main show. As we saw in The Boys Season 4, Homelander has been growing significantly more powerful—not just in terms of superpowers, but also in his influence across the country.

Gen V’s new trailer hints at how Homelander has achieved much of that power, but it has also resulted in a division between those who will join his cause and those who will resist it.

The trailer gave us a glimpse of the Godolkin University students' stance on the human vs. supe conflict. Many were seen chanting slogans against humans, while others could be heard talking about resisting the rise of a dictatorship.

This storyline ties directly into what we are expected to see in the final season of The Boys, where Homelander’s agenda will deepen the divide between humans and supes, leading to a major conflict between those who support him and those who oppose him.

More on this in our story.

While in Season 1 of Gen V the superhuman students were competing to be a part of The Seven, in Season 2, they will face bigger questions about morality as they are forced to choose between joining Homelander’s deadly cause or opposing it.

In the Gen V trailer, we are introduced to the new dean of Godolkin University, Dean Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater. He is seen giving speeches about supes being superior to humans and telling students that they are soldiers. This directly aligns with Homelander’s cause, and Cipher may be one of its supporters, aiming to weaponize the superhuman students.

However, the trailer also suggests that amid these efforts to sway the students, there will be those who resist this authoritarian regime. A poster of Homelander shown in the Gen V Season 2 trailer bears the word "RESIST" painted on it, suggesting that while some will support the cause, others will rise in opposition. This sets the stage for a clash between supes who back Homelander and those who don’t, leading into the final season of The Boys.

Marie Moreau’s return to the university in Gen V Season 2 might play a bigger role in The Boys finale

As seen in the finale of Gen V Season 1, Marie (Jaz Sinclair), while trying to contain the chaos caused by Cate and Sam, demonstrates increased control and command over her powers. This could prove useful in the fight against Homelander. Her abilities are similar to those of Victoria Neuman, the head-popping supe who was killed by Butcher using his new superpowers in Season 4 of The Boys.

Since Neuman is dead, Marie could take her place as the blood-manipulating supe, but unlike Neuman, she will oppose Homelander. This new development may position her as one of the key figures at Godolkin University and a potential leader of the resistance group of superhuman students working to take Homelander down.
