Killing Eve was acquired by Netflix in April 2024, and just after 18 months on the streaming platform, NewonNetflix reported that the spy thriller series will be leaving the platform on October 15, 2025. The list also includes popular films such as Wanted starring Angelina Jolie and Dracula Untold, among several other movies and TV shows.
More on this in our story.
Killing Eve is leaving Netflix
Killing Eve revolved around the story of Sandra Oh's character Eve, an analyst with MI5, who was mostly overlooked her entire career but gets invested in capturing the serial killer played by Comer. After getting fired by MI5, she joins a secret undercover MI6 division, whose main focus is capturing Comer's Villanelle.
The series will get you hooked from the first scene, where Villanelle is introduced as a cold-hearted and apathetic contract killer, but is also a quirky and fashionable character. As the show progresses, we learn that it was not just Eve, who gets obsessed with Villanelle, but also the serial killer, who even risks the identity of her own secret organization, The Twelve.
However, the show will now be available on Netflix for a few more days, until October 15, 2025, when it will be removed from the streaming platform.
The black comedy spy thriller series' Season 1 had Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who also created and starred in another acclaimed series, Fleabag, as Head Writer. The other seasons also had female head writers, including Oscar Winner, Emerald Fennell, Suzanne Heathcote, and Laura Neal.
Since all the head writers were female, the story depicted the female perspective brilliantly. The series is known for its raw depiction of complicated female characters, who are not right every time, and make mistakes in their job and in their lives, which gave us this intriguing story, about the chase and obsession of two characters who worked for opposing forces.
