It has been eight years since Grimm finished its run on NBC, but the supernatural drama is still remembered by the audience for its perfect blend of police procedural, horror, and fantasy genres.

The show told the story of Nicholas Burkhardt, a detective who finds out that he comes from a line of guardians who have to fight supernatural entities. Now that a number of popular shows are being revived, fans of Grimm are wondering if it will also get a reboot.

Viewers are in for a treat as a reboot of the show is already in development. However, instead of a television series, Grimm will return in the form of a film, which is in development at the streaming platform Peacock.

Actress Elizabeth Tulloch, who starred in the original show, has now given a major update about the reboot film. In an interview with TVLine, Tulloch revealed that the script of the movie is already being written.

During the interview, Elizabeth Tulloch, aka Bitsie Tulloch, hinted that David Giuntoli, who played the lead, Nicholas Burkhardt, in the television series, will be involved in the reboot:

“I know there’s a script being written, and I know that David [Giuntoli] met with them. I don’t think they would do a reboot or a spinoff or whatever it’s going to be without David’s involvement.”

When asked if she would also return to the franchise, the actress said it would entirely depend on the script:

“I think it would depend on the script, what their vision is for the character.”

Tulloch also talked about how the show remains popular after all these years and continues to be discovered by new audiences:

“It’s pretty exciting. A lot of people are sort of finding Grimm. We did 123 episodes, and it has like 90% on Rotten Tomatoes still.”

The show aired six seasons on NBC between 2011 and 2017. Tulloch played a dual role in the series. In the first four seasons, she starred as Juliette Silverton, Nicholas’ girlfriend. After Juliette’s death, Tulloch appeared in Seasons 5 and 6 as Eve, a mysterious woman who possessed Juliette’s memories.

The reboot film was announced by Peacock in January this year. Josh Berman, known for creating Drop Dead Diva, is writing the movie. The original program’s creators, Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt, are attached to the reboot as executive producers. The cast and plot details have not been announced yet.

Apart from David Giuntoli and Elizabeth Tulloch, Grimm starred Russell Hornsby as Detective Hank Griffin, Silas Weir Mitchell as Monroe, Bree Turner as Rosalee Calvert, Sasha Roiz as Captain Sean Renard, Reggie Lee as police Sergeant Drew Wu, Claire Coffee as Adalind Schade, Danny Bruno as Bud Wurstner, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as Kelly Kessler-Burkhardt, Jacqueline Toboni as Theresa Rubel, and Damien Puckler as Martin Meisner.
