Joanne and Noah are coming back as Netflix has renewed Nobody Wants This for Season 3, and it's set to arrive in 2026. The Emmy-nominated show stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody and has been climbing Netflix’s Top 10 charts, and has a mismatched podcaster–rabbi romance at its core.

The show is created by Erin Foster and has a brutally honest take on love and faith. But if you thought the Season 2 finale tied everything up, think again! Because when Joanne converted (?), Noah committed, and Morgan called off her engagement...it was only the beginning, no?

Nobody Wants This Season 3 release window

Netflix confirmed that Nobody Wants This Season 3 will release next year, that is, 2026. While the streamer hasn’t nailed down an exact month, the renewal was announced on November 5, 2025.

Erin Foster told Netflix she’ll keep writing about her "favorite couple." Showrunners Jenni Konner (Girls) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Six Feet Under) will return, joined by executive producers Steven Levitan, Sara Foster, and Kristen Bell, too.

Nobody Wants This Season 2 held Netflix’s No. 1 spot on the English TV list for two straight weeks, and reached the Top 10 in 82 countries. It also racked up 18 million views in just 11 days, per Netflix's data.

What to expect in Nobody Wants This Season 3

We believe Season 3 might be about the foundation. The end of the last season saw Joanne deciding to convert to Judaism. But more importantly, she realized she wanted structure, tradition, and belonging for herself, not for Noah.

Meanwhile, Noah chose love over conditions. So, where do two people who’ve already survived conversion crises and identity clashes go next? Foster hinted the next phase may tackle marriage or the prelude to it, at least.

She joked with Tudum:

"It is a privilege to (...) write about my favorite couple (...) As long as it doesn’t take too much time away from me watching reality TV at night, I'll do it for as long as they want me to!"

Supporting actors, like Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn, are expected to return, with Morgan possibly in post-breakup chaos mode and Esther exploring who she is outside her marriage. Every character in Nobody Wants This has a love story (and existential crisis) worth dissecting for sure.

A brief Nobody Wants This Season 2 recap

The Season 2 finale (titled "When Noah Met Joanne") wrapped up with one of the most tender moments as Joanne ran to Noah under the LACMA lampposts. Really hope that reminded you of Season 1’s closing scene in reverse? Except this time, Noah had already decided he’d choose her, faith be damned.

Meanwhile, Joanne’s sister, Morgan (Justine Lupe), ended her engagement to Dr. Andy after realizing therapy and romance are a wild cocktail. And Noah’s brother, Sasha (Timothy Simons), and sister-in-law, Esther (Jackie Tohn), faced their own marital reckoning, which led Esther to ask for some space.

The finale shows that these two people may love each other deeply, but are still learning what it means to stay true to themselves.

The first two Seasons of Nobody Wants This are now on Netflix.
