Netflix's FUBAR Season 2 ended with an explosive finale, which finally revealed the real identity of former MI6 agent Theodore Chips.
Chips was a suspicious character in the show from the beginning and was a mercenary to Luke's old flame, Greta. The two were also receiving orders from a mysterious terrorist named Dante Cress.
However, Chips had a change of heart in FUBAR Season 2 and joined Luke's team, convincing everyone that he is now a changed man.
However, the Season 2 finale revealed that Theodore Chips was Dante Cress all along, and his nuclear missile could potentially start a war with Russia and end the world.
As Luke and Emma raced against time to stop the missile's launch, Emma smartly trapped Theodore Chips in the rocket's launchpad, and he went up in flames and died in FUBAR Season 2.
More on this in our story.
FUBAR Season 2 finale: Theodore Chips was Dante Cress all along
The FUBAR Season 2 finale revealed the shocking truth behind Theodore Chips. While he claimed to have changed and joined Luke's team in Episode 2, that was all a ruse to set his world-ending plan in motion.
He was Dante Cress all along, who had infiltrated Luke's team for his ulterior motives and to keep tabs on the team.
Dante Cress' motives to join Luke's team as Chips were dual: he wanted to keep tabs on the group's activities and sidetrack them from reaching Cress, and he wanted to access information about the nuclear missiles.
Cress surely put on a class act and fooled everyone by assuming the identity of the changed Theodore Chips.
It is only in the Season 2 finale, when he is ready to launch the world-ending missile, which will ignite a war with Russia, that he reveals his real identity to Emma, the woman he wants to repopulate the world with.
After revealing his master plan to reset the world, he asks Emma to join him in a nuclear bunker, which will protect the two while the world goes up in flames.
Instead, Emma fights him inside the silo and finally traps him in the rocket's launchpad. Chips/Cress is incinerated by his missile. The nuclear weapon he prepared to end the world becomes the reason for his own demise, as Roo calls it, 'Barbecue Chips.'
Why did Theodore Chips/Dante Cress want to end the world in FUBAR Season 2?

While Theodore Chips had villainous motives to end the world in FUBAR Season 2, his character was given a somewhat emotional backstory, which explained his antagonistic origins.
As he revealed to Emma in the Season 2 finale, Cress' father was also an agent, assigned on a mission to cover up a sex scandal involving a politician. However, when the mission went haywire, he tried to kill his own son, which led to Cress killing him in self-defense.
This incident tainted Cress' mind, and he became convinced that the world was a bad place and needed a major reset. This is why he assumed the identity of Theodore Chips and created a missile that would start a war with Russia and end the world, following which he would repopulate it with Emma.
