"It was very intense": Big Brother UK star Elsa recalls seeing her birth mom on her 18th birthday

Big Brother UK Season 22 Episode 4 featured Elsa sharing about her birth parents. It happened in the morning when some of the fellow housemates spent time in the yard.

While a few of them discussed their families and parents, Elsa revealed that she was adopted. After knowing about her adoption, Big Brother UK housemates asked her if she had ever met her birth parents.

Recalling the first meeting with her birth mom, and later seeing her birth father, Elsa shared:

"I met my birth mum on my 18th birthday, which is like, that's all I remember my 18th being. It was very intense. I don't know why I did it on my 18th. And she didn't feel like a mum. She just felt like a stranger. And then I met my dad, like, literally, a few months ago. Like, literally, like, the first time ever in my life I've ever spoken to him."

One of the conversations featured on episode 4 of Big Brother UK was about Elsa's birth parents. It started when some of the housemates were enjoying the sun and discussing random things.

When Elsa revealed that she was adopted, fellow housemates asked her to share more. She recalled that at the time, her age was 3 and that she remembered it all. They asked Elsa if she had seen her birth parents. She said she had seen them.

On Elsa's 18th birthday, she saw her birthmom. She referred to that experience as "very intense." She added that her biological mom felt like a stranger. Later, Elsa also met her birth father a few months ago. Big Brother UK housemates asked how her first meeting with her biological father went.

"It was crazy. And it was so weird because I've always grown up, like, feeling like, like an odd duckling. Like, Where do I come from? And like, I let him and like, he...like, it was so scary because I literally see me in him. It was so weird, like, looks wise. So I was like, What?" shared Elsa.

Sharing more if she connected "more" with her birth father than her birth mom, Elsa said she had a question about their behavior.

"Then it's like, how could you do that? Oh, it's just like...Then it's like, that natural resentment," added Elsa.

She also talked about facing questions from many people regarding whether she wanted to get to know her biological parents. However, she noted that her parents, who adopted her, were her parents. It was because they were the ones with whom she stayed and grew up.

"They were my mum and dad. I have such a good relationship with them. I love them so much, yeah," added Elsa.

Seeing Elsa talking about her parents, who adopted her, Big Brother UK housemates told her that they could see it in her eyes. They thanked Elsa for sharing the story behind her adoption and her thoughts about seeing her birth parents for the first time.
