"It's a human practice": Task Episode 6 preview drops glimpses of a dramatic convergence of good and bad

The preview of HBO's Task Episode 6 has given us a thrilling glimpse into the penultimate episode of the acclaimed crime drama series. In Episode 5, Mark Ruffalo's Tom and Tom Pelphrey's Robbie finally come face to face with each other.

As seen in the preview of Task Episode 6, the penultimate episode might have a showdown between Robbie, Tom, and his Task Force, and the Dark Force, as at the end of Episode 5, Tom was in the forest with Robbie, who went there to meet the Dark Hearts. Furthermore, in the preview, Ruffalo's Tom can also be heard saying his faith in confessions, which he describes as a "human practice" for dealing with the shame. He states:

"Confessions, for humans... It's a human practice. To help us deal with the shame. Confessions not for God's sake."

Through the previous episodes of the HBO crime drama series, it is clear that Tom and Robbie are deep in challenges that they are facing in their personal lives, and have resorted to doing some not-so-good things. However, neither of these two characters is unlikable or gives antagonist vibes.

Their first meeting in Episode 5 further demonstrated that neither Tom nor Robbie wanted to kill the other and somehow understood each other's circumstances. However, with Robbie showing mercy to Tom and not pulling the trigger might have depicted him as someone who would not harm someone without a motive, this decision might also come back to haunt him, as Tom again came in front of him at the end of the episode.

Task Episode 6 would put Robbie, Tom, and the Dark Hearts at the centre of the episode. The convergence of the good and bad in the middle of the woods would result in drastic consequences, which would further complicate the series and make the finale more shocking.

As per the preview, the showdown might lead to some losses, but after the subdued meeting between Tom and Robbie, we can be sure about the fact that Tom might be his only chance of survival to get out of this mess and not share the same fate as his teammate Cliff and his brother Billy.

The upcoming episode will put Tom and Robbie aiming their guns at each other. However, whether Robbie pulls the trigger this time and risks going to prison for killing an FBI agent is far-fetched, the arrival of the Dark Hearts amid the chaos has made the moment more tense and overwhelming.

Furthermore, with just two episodes left and Robbie's life in a risky situation, Task Episode 6 would be high stakes and worth the wait, due to the impending mayhem that would explode when three opposing forces have a face-off.
