“It’s a lot of pressure” - 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Darcey makes her feelings known about meeting Georgi’s family

Darcey Silva, the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? faced a lot of stress as she was getting ready to meet her husband, Georgi Rusev's family in Bulgaria, which was a major step in their relationship. In the July 20 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, she made efforts to tone down her appearance to a more conservative look for the visit.

She opened up about her increasing concern as she managed shopping excursions, beauty appointments, and heated packing conversations with Georgi.

“I don’t know if his family is going to approve of me and accept me,” she admitted. “It’s a lot of pressure.”

This visit marks a pivotal point in Darcey and Georgi’s journey, and tensions surrounding appearances, cultural expectations, and mutual respect were evident throughout the episode.

The July 20 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? followed Darcey as she spent her final days in the United States before the trip. In an attempt to find clothing more suitable for the culture and family she would soon be meeting, she went shopping with her Bulgarian friend Roxy.

Darcey tried on several outfits, including a black jumpsuit that she thought would work. She said, "I like this one!" as she left the dressing room.

“It feels conservative enough where it respects the family and the culture.”

Roxy disagreed and warned that if Darcey didn’t dress respectfully, “they’re going to send you back to America”. Roxy also advised Darcey to remove her long lashes and tone down her nails. Darcey agreed, acknowledging that adjusting her appearance was important to show Georgi she was

“putting in the effort to look a little bit more conservative,”

even though it was “definitely out of [her] comfort zone”. After getting her new, shorter lashes the next day, Darcey expressed hope that Georgi and his family would appreciate the change. Darcey stated in a confessional on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? that she hoped Georgi and his family would approve of her more subdued appearance.

Reaffirming her love and respect for herself and her refusal to compromise, Darcey insisted on striking a balance between her personal preferences and her conservative presentation as she prepared for the trip.

“Of course, I want to dress very respectfully for Georgi's family, but they're not going to be with us the whole time. So I want to pack some sexy things!” she said.

Georgi remained skeptical. When Darcey modeled one of her travel outfits — a top he thought revealed too much — Georgi responded, “Your boobs [are] out”. Darcey countered that she would wear a white fur coat over the outfit and noted that she had already made several changes, including her lashes. But Georgi wasn’t convinced.

“Thank you Darcey, thank you for listening to me with [these] natural looking eyelashes,” he said sarcastically. “I'm 100% sure my parents, they're not going to notice your big cleavage, your super shoes and your short skirt.”

When Darcey questioned his reaction, Georgi explained his concerns directly. “You don’t respect what I say!” he told her, adding that people in Bulgaria might interpret her look negatively.

He argued that her style could make others think she was a “pro*******” or a “w****”. Darcey disagreed, but Georgi continued to stress that she was being “disrespectful”.
