After It: Welcome to Derry premiered on October 26, HBO revealed, based on the Warner Bros. Discovery data, that the series premiere was one of the biggest for the streamer. Only two previous premieres, namely The Last of Us and House of the Dragon, outrank this premiere.

Now, official numbers have come in proving the same because, as per the Nielsen scale, It: Welcome to Derry had a total of 620 million minutes of viewing time for the week of October 27 to November 2. This count includes a week-long viewing time for episode 1, released on October 26, and a few hours of viewing time for episode 2, released on November 2.

The 620 million minutes of viewing placed the Andy and Barbara Muschietti premiere seventh on the Nielsen Top 10 scale for acquired series. The show is classified as such owing to its position as an HBO show, which is also available to stream on HBO Max.

This number also placed It: Welcome to Derry 12th on the overall list, just shy of being a part of the Top 10 (Law & Order was 10th with 641 million minutes of viewership). 620 million minutes of viewing time is a personal high for HBO Max, as the streamer's highest viewership for an original show was The Last of Us, with 691 million minutes for its finale.

Episode 6 of the horror series premiered on November 30 and followed the events of its previous episode, where the army and the kids found themselves in the sewers separately, hunting a monster they don't completely understand. Episode 5 also found Hank Grogan escaping on the way to Shawshank prison.

In the sixth episode, we find out that Hank Grogan is being kept safe (for now) at The Black Spot, but by the end of the episode, even that safety is threatened. Despite everything that happened down in the sewers, the kids decide to go back in there and kill the monster. The military also finds itself pressed to continue its investigation of the pillars that keep the monster contained.

Additionally, Lily also discovers an unsettling reality about the one adult she was trusting, Ingrid Kersh, and how Ingrid has some personal links to the Pennywise monster. The promo for the seventh episode of It: Welcome to Derry reveals that it is set to dig deeper into Pennywise's origins in Derry.
