TLC released a clip featuring My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore along with her family members on July 21, 2025. It was from when they were "stranded in the Alps."
Family members, including Whitney's dad, Glenn; her brother, Hunter; Glenn's sister, Angie; Angie's daughter, Jamie; and more, attended the trip to Switzerland.
The clip featured Whitney Way Thore visiting the emergency room after a sore throat. Her dad informed Angie and Jamie, after which they were concerned.
However, after My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore returned from the ER, she said:
"My visit to the doctor was great. Basically, as long as I feel okay, I can do anything I want. With the altitude, he told me just to be careful, just to go slow, and to wear a mask, just to protect other people while I'm around them."
My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore gets sick during her family trip to Switzerland
As featured in TLC's recently released video clip, My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore had to visit the emergency room after a fever and a sore throat.
However, as she returned from the ER, she revealed that she was fine.
"He (Doctor) said that my lungs were perfect. My throat was perfect. He didn't even give me any Tylenol. He just told me to go home. And he was like, you can go up to the glacier tomorrow. Just walk slow. I said okay," she said.
She then confessed to the cameras that her visit to the doctor was "great." He told her that she should be careful and "go slow." The doctor also suggested she wear a mask for protection.
Listening to Whitney that she was alright, her father was happy.
"Well, wonderful news," he said.
Earlier, in the morning, Whitey's father shared that he had been convincing her to visit the doctor for almost half an hour. In conversation with his sister Angie and her daughter Jamie, he opened up about how Whitney had to go to the ER.
Whitney's aunt was "freaking out" because they were in Switzerland, far from their home.
"So, I don't even know how that works here, but of course, I'm very concerned for her health at this point," she confessed.
During their conversation, her dad added that he didn't know what was happening at the emergency room. He said that depending on the situation, it might "ruin" the whole vacation.
Soon, My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney arrived and said it was "all over." Her dad laughed and said he was not "falling for that."
"The doctor told me I was totally fine, but he didn't speak English," said Whitney.
To help her, the hotel had arranged a local guy, Matt, who went with her to help with the translation.
As Whitney arrived, Matt was also with her. He said he did all the translation with the doctor. She said that her lungs and throat were perfect. The doctor told her to go home and said that she could even go up the glacier the next day.
