Landman Season 2 episode 6 recap: Thomas wants to rebuild his bond with Tommy

At the beginning of episode 6 of Landman Season 2, things start off pretty slow but are filled with emotion. All Thomas wants is to be able to spend time with Tommy. But when he asks Tommy if he would be interested in going on a road trip together, he is met with disinterest at first.
However, as time goes on, they both realize how many years of connection and time they had missed out on. Throughout the road trip, they discuss many topics casually about oil, greed, and responsibility.
Their conversation also shows the unresolved issues between them and the generational guilt associated with their family. Meanwhile, Cooper is experiencing a dramatic change in his own life.
After meeting Ariana's father, he approaches Tommy for financial assistance to take the next step toward getting married. Angela, caught off guard, provides Cooper with a very moving act by giving him her wedding ring.
As seen in episode 6 of Landman Season 2, the Norris couple wants to help Cooper start his married life free from financial issues. While Cooper gains a level of control over his life, it also reminds Tommy of how deeply family decisions continue to impact one's future.

Landman Season 2 episode 6 recap: Risk, work and the cost of progress

Episode 6 of Landman Season 2 also focuses on what's happening in the oil business. Dale, Boss, Ben, and Russ attend an oil industry exhibition in Odessa, where new technology is being showcased. They are introduced to robots designed to replace human workers at oil rigs.
The presentation explains how these machines can do dangerous tasks more efficiently, but it also makes it clear that using them would reduce the need for manual workers. It was also a clear sign to show that even oil industries can use automation, which would also reduce the cost, as low manpower is required when machines do most of the tasks.
At the same time, Rebecca is dealing with a serious legal and operational problem. If M-Tex does not restart offshore drilling quickly, the company could face lawsuits and accusations of insurance fraud. To avoid this, Rebecca agrees to drill near an older, damaged rig site.
She needs someone experienced to manage the offshore operation, so she goes to meet Newsom, a geologist recommended by Nathan. When she arrives, she realizes Newsom is someone she previously had a personal encounter with.
Despite this awkward situation, she agrees to take help from him. Rebecca doesn't have many options, and M-Tex is already facing various issues. So, working with the man she drank with was the only option.
Landman Season 2 episode 6 ending explained: Tommy is forced to accept Dan's deal

As the episode continues, Tommy finally meets Cami and Dan in Fort Worth, where Cami is already moving ahead with her deal with Dan. The meeting makes Tommy uncomfortable because he strongly believes Dan’s interest in M-Tex is not genuine. Tommy openly accuses Dan of using the company to move dirty money.
However, Dan tries to pretend that his investment is safe, and he has no intention of ruining M-Tex. Even though Tommy argues his case, Cami does not back him and continues negotiating with Dan. She's gradually losing trust in Tommy and prefers considering Dan's offer.
As the discussion continues, Dan cleverly brings up Tommy’s past financial failures, especially the losses he suffered during the 2008 crisis. He hints that Cami doubts Tommy’s ability to manage the company because of that history.
Tommy realizes that Dan is deliberately trying to create distance between him and Cami, but he cannot stop the deal because Cami has the final say. In the end, Tommy is forced to accept the agreement despite his objections.
In the end, Tommy Norris is once again left stuck between two choices: He has the option to leave the company and spend more time with his father. Or, save M-Tex and Cami from Dan. But either way, his peace will be destroyed.
