The CW has finally set the US premiere date for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, the Canadian police procedural drama based on the American show Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Criminal Intent is itself based on Dick Wolf Entertainment's highly successful Law & Order franchise, which has also released many other spin-off series like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Organised Crime, and more.
Toronto Criminal Intent debuted on Canadian CityTV on February 22, 2024, with Season 1, following which it attracted 1.1 million views on the first episode and became the network’s No. 1 premiere and No. 1 primetime debut. Season 2 was released exactly a year later in 2025.
Following this success, The CW has finally decided to release Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, for American audiences.

Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent finally gets a US premiere date
US fans can now enjoy the #1 prime-time drama of the year in Canada, as The CW has finally announced the release date for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.
After debuting Seasons 1 and 2 on Canadian Citytv in February 2024 and 2025, respectively, the show has finally made its way to the US and will be released under The CW's 2025 Fall schedule on September 24, 2025. In addition, Season 2 is also slated to be released in 2026.
Considering the show's success, it was also renewed for Season 3 alongside the sophomore season in June 2024. CityTV has yet to set a release date for Season 3.
The official synopsis for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent reads as follows:
''A psychological thriller wrapped in a criminal investigation, the series follows a squad of detectives from the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit, a major case squad in the fictional Toronto Police Department. These detectives investigate high-profile homicides and corruptions in metro Toronto.''
The drama series follows a team from the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit as they investigate high-profile homicides, delving into the worlds of finance, corporate, and media in the metropolitan heart of Canada.
Who is in the cast of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent?
Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is led by actors Aden Young and Kathleen Munroe, who play detective sergeants in the show, leading and navigating their team through the high-profile cases.
Aden Young is a Canadian-Australian actor who is best known for his work in the SundanceTV drama Rectify and played the lead role in the 2014 American science fiction film I, Frankenstein.
Young plays the character of Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, who partners up with Munroe's Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman, and they solve high-profile homicides in Toronto.
Munroe is also a Canadian actress who is best known for her work in City on Fire. She has also appeared on procedurals like Chicago Med, Law & Order: Organized Crime, NCIS: New Orleans, and S.W.A.T.
The additional cast for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent includes K. C. Collins as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, Karen Robinson as Inspector Vivienne Holness, Araya Mengesha as Mark Yohannes, Nicola Correia-Damude as Dr. Lucy Da Silva, and Tammy Isbell as Detective Alice Riley.
