Love Me Episodes 1-2 recap: A tragedy strikes Jun-kyung and her family

JTBC's latest K-drama, Love Me, depicts the complicated lives of a dysfunctional family. Jun-kyung, an OB-GYN, does not want to get married and has a complicated relationship with her parents. Her parents, Jin-ho and Mi-ran, are also struggling in their lives. However, the lives of the whole family change after a tragic incident at the end of Episode 1 of the K-drama as Mi-ran passes away.

But the K-drama is not about the tragedies that befall the Seo family, but how sorrow, loss, and all the other emotions are bound to change. Episode 2 of the K-drama captures just that as Jin-ho, Jun-kyung, and her younger brother move on to the next phase of their lives while also grieving the loss of Mi-ran.

Love Me Episodes 1-2 recap: A family dinner turns into a tragedy

Episode 1 of Love Me introduces the Seo family and their different struggles. Jin-ho, who is getting retired, is struggling to take care of his wife, who has been in depression after the accident that resulted in her losing a leg. Their children, Jun-kyung and Jun-seo, have their own issues as the former has almost given up on her family and having a family of her own, while the latter is stuck on his girlfriend rather than his own life.

The family gathers for a dinner to celebrate Jin-ho and Mi-ran's anniversary and also his retirement. However, the event is far from a celebration as Jun-kyung and her mother get into an argument. However, this isn't the only incident that makes up the night tragic, as Jin-ho later finds out that his wife died in her sleep, making everyone, especially Jun-kyung, feel guilty.

Love Me Episodes 1-2 recap: New beginnings for the Seo family

In Episode 2 of Love Me, the family is shown to be grieving the loss of Mi-ran. Jun-kyung remembers the past and how she still feels guilty bout her mother's accident as she was the one who sent her back to buy something for her. While her father tries to make her understand that she is not responsible, it is difficult for her to accept it.

As they grieve, they also see changes in their lives. Jun-seo blames his family for forgetting about his mother so early, and also discovers that his girlfriend is cheating on him, which shatters him. Jin-ho, on the other hand, goes on the trip alone, which he planned to go on with his late wife. There, he meets a woman, his tour guide, who catches his attention.

However, it's Jun-kyung who goes through the most change as she goes on a date with her cheerful neighbor, Do-hyun. The date doesn't go well as Do-hyun starts asking the right questions about her, and she leaves. She later goes to him to apologise and asks him to take things slowly. However, the plan fails as she wakes up at his home the next day.
