Matlock Season 2 Episode 2: A quick recap

Episode 2 of Matlock Season 2 crackles with tension. Olympia Larence takes control in a stunning display of strategy and cold calculation. After discovering that Matty had stolen the Wellbrexa documents from her safe, Olympia flips the game. How? Those papers were fake. It was an AI rip-off of the original documents. Turns out, she kept the fake papers to keep the original ones secure from Julian. When Olympia confronts Matty about stealing the documents, Matty thinks forcing/manipulating Olympia would work. Well, she's wrong because Olympia strips Matty of the leverage and proves that she can be a shrewd opponent, too.

She records Matty's conversation and threatens to blackmail her. Olympia is hell-bent on proving Senior's involvement in the Wellbrexa case so that she can keep Julian and her family out of the chaos. The episode closes on a devastating note when Olympia emails Matty a recording of her threats, a final blow in the battle that's no longer about justice but survival.

Meanwhile, when Alfie comes to know about his biological father, Joey, he wants to reunite with him. However, when Matty finds out that Joey is not sober yet, she bars him from meeting Alfie. Alfie begs his grandparents to help Joey get to rehab, but Matty initially refuses. In the end, Matty finally agrees to help Joey financially. Edwin ultimately hands him an envelope with cash and a rehab's contact information.
