CBS’s Matlock Season 2 gets an exciting new update regarding the cast. As reported by Deadline, Justina Machado, known for her work in Six Feet Under and films like Final Destination 2, is confirmed to join the legal drama as a recurring character.

She will play Eva, the 4th ex-wife of Beau Bridges’s Howard Markston, who has been described as a fearless and ambitious woman. This will also mark a reunion for many cast and crew as Machado was part of another popular series, Jane the Virgin, which was created by Jennie Snyder Urman, who also helped develop Matlock.

Matlock Season 2 is confirmed to return on October 12, 2025. Its premiere episode will pick up where the show left off in season 1, with the mystery of the WellBrexa documents finally being solved as Olympia discovers who actually stole those documents.

After that, the show will air on its scheduled day, i.e., Thursdays, from October 16, 2025, onwards.
