My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 is here, and the teen drama has already been renewed for a third chapter. Based on Ali Novak's 2014 novel of the same name, the show revolves around Jackie Howard, a teenager who moves in with her mother’s best friend’s family in Colorado after losing her parents. There, she gets into a love triangle with two sons of the Walter family, Cole and Alex.
The complicated relationship dynamics never fail to amaze the audience, and that is why Netflix has consistently shown faith in the series, ordering a third season months before the second installment premiered. Series creator Melanie Halsall has now discussed her vision for the show's future, teasing how many years she is willing to run the program.
In an interview with Swooon, Halsall said that she would like to continue My Life with the Walter Boys for years, provided that the audience keeps enjoying the show:
“I’m fascinated by these characters and these stories in this world, and I would love to keep telling these stories for as long as people keep watching them, would like to keep watching them. So you never know. We might be seeing our characters get older and older as we go ahead, but I would love to keep telling these stories.”
Melanie Halsall talks about the future of My Life with the Walter Boys
During the interview, Melanie Halsall added that My Life with the Walter Boys might soon start focusing on other characters, apart from the lead trio of Jackie, Cole, and Alex. She said she is hoping to give every character their due in the future seasons:
“We’ve got a lot of characters on our show, and I think they should all get their place in the sun. I love all of our romances. I really, really do. I think the Kiley-Dylan relationship in Season 2 is really fun, and especially with the separate triangle with Alex, I’m really excited to show people where that’s going to go.”
Halsall further disclosed that the love triangle theme will continue in the upcoming seasons, as that is the show's identity:
“Our show is always a love triangle. It’s based on a love triangle. It’s based on romance. And so for the moment, that’s the core of our show. So for the moment, that’s not going to change.”
My Life With The Walter Boys premiered on Netflix in December 2023 and earned a huge fan following due to its twisted relationships and endearing characters. The show was immediately renewed for a second season, which was released on August 28, 2025. Meanwhile, Netflix ordered a third season of the show in May 2025, which is now in production.
The show stars Nikki Rodriguez as Jackie Howard, Noah LaLonde as Cole Walter, Ashby Gentry as Alex Walter, Sarah Rafferty as Katherine Walter, and Connor Stanhope as Danny Walter.
