Netflix's coming-of-age teen drama, My Life with the Walter Boys, starring Nikki Rodriguez and Noah LaLonde, debuted on December 7, 2023.
Based on Ali Novak's hit novel, the series follows Jackie Howard, an orphaned teen who moves from New York to rural Colorado to live with the Walters. As Jackie struggles to adapt to living in a new place, she finds herself caught between brothers Alex and Cole. What follows is Jackie's heartfelt journey as she attempts to rebuild her life, while her complex feelings complicate matters.
Season 1 of My Life with the Walter Boys concluded with Jackie kissing Cole, despite being in a relationship with Alex at the time. Before things could go further, she left for New York. However, when she returned to Colorado in My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2, things were bound to get confusing for the trio. At the start of Season 2, Jackie sort of friend-zoned Cole to avoid complications. Despite their undeniable chemistry and emotional confession in the season finale, Jackie and Cole do not kiss in My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2.
In Season 2 Episode 2, titled My Life Without The Walter Boys, Jackie tells Cole,
"This is the only home I have now, and I almost lost it. Everything that happened between us started this whole disaster. I can't believe I did that to Alex. If I'm ever gonna fit in here. If I'm ever gonna be a Walter. Then nothing can happen between us. For Alex's sake and the whole family, and for me. I think I need a little space."
However, Cole and Jackie's chemistry was undeniable, even though they agreed to stay friends. There were moments when they were about to kiss each other, but they managed to control their feelings.
What happens between Cole and Jackie in My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 finale episode?
Even after being in a secret relationship with Alex, Jackie confesses her feelings for Cole in the season finale. Jackie follows Cole out of the house and confronts him,
"You have been off with me for weeks. You have been avoiding me, staying out of the house, and we were supposed to do our college admissions together, and you don't tell me your SAT scores? Just please be honest with me."
Cole snaps as he reveals,
"I saw you and Alex at Richard's. I was giving you space, like you asked. But I thought we had something. I've been racking my brain trying to understand why you would be with my brother."
Cole ultimately gives a reality check to Jackie, telling,
"We've never just been friends."
Jackie breaks down and finally confesses her feelings,
"I can't stay away from you. I keep trying to, but nothing works. I can't be with someone who makes me feel the way you make me feel. I love you."
She further reveals that kissing Jackie in the barn was one of the most magical moments in her life - one that made her forget all her troubles and worries.
As they were about to kiss, they were interrupted by Alex, who heard their entire conversation and asked,
"You love him?"
However, before Alex could confront them, Will interrupted and said that something bad had happened to their father, George. The season left us on a cliffhanger, not only with George's fate but also about the complicated love triangle comprising Jackie, Alex, and Cole.
