NCIS: Origins Season 2 is set to bring another nail-biting case, which will see the team fighting against the time to uncover the truth behind the attack on Lala’s (played by Mariel Molino) CI. The series, set in the early 90s, follows Naval Investigative Service agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Austin Stowell) during his younger days. The episode 8 titled ‘End of the Road’ will air on CBS on December 9, 2025, at 9 PM ET and will be available to stream on Paramount + as well.

In the previous episode of NCIS: Origins, we see Cliff Wheeler (played by Patrick Fischler) struggling with his divorce as his personal life starts affecting his work as well. His relationship with Noah Oakley (played by DaJuan Johnson) also puts him in a dilemma about his future with the department. The NIS team get a unique case involving the murder of a young Marine.

In the upcoming episode, Lala is shocked to learn that her CI is shot. The team, along with Oceanside PD, will investigate the attack. Meanwhile, Gibbs’ relationship with Diane is tested when she gets a new job in Los Angeles.

NCIS: Origins Season 2 Episode 8 titled ‘End of the Road’ will air on CBS at 9 PM ET on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The episode will be available for streaming on Paramount Plus as well.

What to expect in NCIS: Origins Season 2 Episode 8?

In the previous episode of NCIS: Origins Season 2, Cliff Wheeler is grappling with his divorce from his wife, who knows about his relationship with FBI Detective Noah Oakley. He finds himself lonely in his journey. Mary Jo is however empathetic towards him, trying to help him take a moment to assess the situation before letting it affect his work.

The NIS team is investigating the murder of a young Marine, Natasha, who was found outside the base with stab wounds. She was also mauled by a cougar, who becomes an integral part of the investigation. The team learns that she had spoken to man in civilian clothes, with whom Natasha had later gone to a bar.

It takes a unique weather pen for the team to zero in on the suspect. They are able to catch him and discover that he had killed Natasha after she refused to get involved with him that evening. Meanwhile, Gibbs and Diane are going strong and even go on a double date with Randy and his wife. Vera also decides to not pursue the DC job and stay at NIS instead.

In the upcoming episode, Lala learns that her favorite confidential informant was shot. They will team up with Oceanside Police Department to unearth the details behind the attack. Gibbs’ relationship with Diane faces a hurdle when she gets offered a job in Los Angeles. Her decision could affect the further of their relationship, which is currently holding steady. Meanwhile, Franks also pays a visit to his brother Mason.

As per Rotten Tomatoes, the logline for episode 8 states,

“When Lala's favorite CI is shot, the team joins forces with Oceanside PD to determine who was behind the attack; Franks visits his brother Mason at the compound; Gibbs' relationship with Diane is tested when she gets a job in Los Angeles.”
