What to expect from NCIS: Sydney Season 3 Episode 1?

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Australian Federal Police have some new and intriguing cases to investigate this time. In the first episode of the season, titled Gut Instinct, the agents are going to focus on the disappearance of two US Navy aviators. When their bodies are found, the team realizes that the incident was part of a terrorist plan. The official logline for the episode reads:

“The discovery of two missing U.S. Navy aviators adrift in the Coral Sea leads the team to expose a sinister terrorist plot.”

At the same time, the episode will also likely follow up on the previous season’s finale and reveal who the woman was who was waiting for Bluebird "Blue" Gleeson at her home.

The new season brings back Olivia Swann as Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance as Sergeant Jim "JD" Dempsey, Mavournee Hazel as Bluebird "Blue" Gleeson, Tuuli Narkle as Constable Evie Cooper, William McInnes as Roy "Rosie" Penrose, and Sean Sagar as DeShawn Anthony Jackson. Teasing the overall theme of the third season, series creator Morgan O'Neill said in an interview with TV Insider:

“It’s definitely a case of accepting the reality that you can’t outrun your past and that if you don’t deal with it, it’s going to come back and hit you like a freight train. And in Season 3 it does.”
